Game #26: Wednesday, February 5, 6 p.m. EST
vs. Michigan-Dearborn (14-10, 7-7 WHAC)
Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center - Sylvania, Ohio

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes returns home to the Ebeid Rec Center for three of its next four games, beginning on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves entertain Michigan-Dearborn.  Following the contest, the Gray Wolves will have a week off from action as Lourdes has its second half bye date on Saturday.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Aquinas will be broadcast on a tape-delay basis on BCSN as part of Buckeye Broadband.  The game will also air on Wednesday night at 11:30 p.m., Thursday at 11:30 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m.  In addition, BCSN2 will show the game Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Friday at 12:30 p.m., and Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 19-6 (.800) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes leads the series with Michigan-Dearborn 11-6 dating back to Jan. 14, 2012 and has won the last four meetings between the two schools.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this season 68-54 in Dearborn, Mich. on Dec. 4.  Lourdes holds a 3-0 edge in the Ebeid Rec Center and is 8-0 all-time against the Wolverines in Sylvania.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves closed out non-conference play last Monday, dropping a 79-72 decision at Shawnee State.  Kenny Coleman and Clif Snow tallied 14 points each to pace Lourdes.  On Wednesday, Little Anderson made three free throws with 0.5 seconds left to force overtime and the Gray Wolves defeated Aquinas 71-69 in double-overtime.  Nick Welch had 22 points and 16 rebounds while McRay White added 14 points.  White made the go ahead shot with less than 30 seconds left on Saturday at Siena Heights as the Gray Wolves defeated the Saints 64-61.  Anderson tallied 15 points while Snow added 14 more in the win.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines snapped a six-game losing skid on Saturday with a 70-65 victory at home against Lawrence Tech.  Jason Gigliotti leads Michigan-Dearborn averaging 13.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while Cody Kegley adds 12.9 points per night.  As a team, Michigan-Dearborn ranks seventh in NAIA Division II allowing just 67.3 points per game.

Getting Defensive: Lourdes ranks second in the NAIA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 66.4 points per game.  The Gray Wolves are limiting opposing offenses to just 41.1% shooting from the floor, the 14th best mark in the nation.  The defense has led to win, as Lourdes is 16-0 this season when the Gray Wolves have allowed less than 70 points in a game.

Comeback Wolves: Lourdes has rallied from double digit deficits in each of its last four WHAC games to earn the win.  The stretch started when Lourdes rallied from 13 points down with 2:10 to play to defeat Indiana Tech on Jan. 18.  On Jan. 22 at Madonna, Lourdes trailed by 14 points with under 16 minutes to play before winning in overtime.  Wednesday against Aquinas, the Gray Wolves were trailing by 12 points with 14 minutes remaining before winning in double overtime.  Saturday, Lourdes was behind by 10 late in the first half and trailed in the final minute before winning at Siena Heights 64-61.

A Lengthy Win: Lourdes registered its first multi-overtime victory in program history on Wednesday with the 71-69 double-overtime win over Aquinas.  Previously, the Gray Wolves had played four games which went 50 minutes or more without a victory.  Lourdes went double-overtime in defeats against Indiana East and Northwestern Ohio last season.  The Gray Wolves went triple overtime with Northwestern Ohio in the 2017-2018 campaign only to come up short.

Welch Has Career Night: Nick Welch had his biggest game as a Gray Wolf last Wednesday, posting career highs with 22 points and 16 rebounds against Aquinas.  It was his second double-double of the season.  Welch tallied 18 of the points and 12 of the rebounds after halftime as Lourdes battled back from double figures down to win.

Tournament Berth Secured: Lourdes has assured itself of a spot in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament while finishing the season over .500 for the second consecutive year.  The 19 victories this season are second most in program history and the Gray Wolves need three more triumphs to match the 2012-2013 school record of 22 victories.

A Tale of Two Halves: Lourdes is outscoring opponents by just 24 points, 805-781 in the first half this season.  However, the Gray Wolves hold a 176-point edge, 1,012-836, in the second half.

Among the National Leaders: Lourdes ranks 24th in NAIA Division II with a +6.1 rebounding margin this season.  The Gray Wolves are also 32nd outscoring their opponents by 8.2 points per game. In addition, Lourdes ranks 38th in offensive rebounds per nigh with 11.4, and is 48th in turnover margin at +0.9.

Highest Ranking Ever: Lourdes jumped into the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll for the first time this season on Dec. 11, checking in at 14th in this week's ranking.  Lourdes moved up one spot to 13th, its highest ranking in program history, in the poll released on Jan. 15.  The next poll will be released on Feb. 5.

Team Captains: Lourdes has four captains this season.  Bryce McComb, Clif Snow, and Brett Lauf join newcomer Nick Welch, a transfer from Spring Arbor, in leading the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Little Anderson is the only Gray Wolf to start all 25 games and is the only player to appear in every game as well ... Kenny Coleman ranks 37th in NAIA Division II shooting 82.9% from the free throw line.
