Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes concludes its season-opening two-game road trip on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves head to South Bend, Ind. to face Indiana-South Bend in search of their first victory of the 2021-2022 season.

Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her first season on the Lourdes bench, Tandy Bradford sports an 0-1 (.000) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her fourth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 21-60 (.259) career mark.  She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Indiana-South Bend holds a 2-1 all-time series advantage over Lourdes dating back to Dec. 17, 2011.  The Titans won the last meeting 83-52 on Nov. 5, 2019 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Indiana-South Bend also won the only previous meeting in South Bend, Ind., 80-63, during the first match up ever between the two schools.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves opened the season on Saturday evening dropping a 93-61 contest on the road at Georgetown (Ky.).  Shae Pedroza led all scorers with 21 points while Gabby Stover added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes shot just 33.9% from the floor and committed 29 turnovers in the loss.

Scouting Indiana-South Bend: The Titans opened their season on Saturday afternoon with an 80-48 victory over Indiana-Kokomo.  Rachel Robards came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points, one of four Indiana-South Bend players to finish in double figures.  Maddie Gard added 15 points while Katie Gard chipped in 14 more.  Emma Fisher scored 12 points while Courtney Haynes grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.

Opening With a Double-Double: Gabby Stover began the season with her second career double-double in the loss to Georgetown (Ky.).  The sophomore tallied 11 points and added 10 rebounds, one off her career high, while playing 36 minutes.  Stover recorded her first career double-double last season with 15 points and 11 boards at Siena Heights on Feb. 3, 2021.

Pedroza Matches Career High: Shae Pedroza opened the season by tying her career high with 21 points at Georgetown (Ky.).  The sophomore made 7-of-13 shots from the floor, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.  Her four triples also matched a career best.  Pedroza has now had consecutive 21-point efforts, having originally set her career high at Concordia (Mich.) in the WHAC semifinals on Feb, 27, 2021 to conclude last season.

First Career Start: Maddie Norton made her first start wearing the terra cotta and black on Saturday at Georgetown (Ky.).  The sophomore appeared in just six games as a rookie.  In fact, she played just 29 total minutes all of last season and was on the floor for 19 minutes in the season opener.

Welcome to Lourdes: After beginning her collegiate career at Wayne State University, Mercedes Wagner appeared in a Lourdes uniform for the first time at Georgetown (Ky.).  The sophomore played 20 minutes, scoring four points while grabbing three rebounds.

Collegiate Debuts: Lourdes had five players make their collegiate debuts in the season opener.  Shallyn Miley and Alex Wolfe led the way, scoring four points each.  Miley also pulled down five rebounds, second most on the squad.  In addition, Winter Richburg, Lexie Sermak, and Harmony Young all took to the floor for the first time.

Forcing Turnovers: The Gray Wolves created 17 Georgetown (Ky.) turnovers in the season opener, including nine via steals.  Gabby Stover and Maddie Norton had three thefts each for Lourdes to place the defense.

Lourdes Tabbed 10th in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in 10th place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just behind Northwestern Ohio and just ahead of Madonna in the balloting.  Indiana Tech was picked as the preseason favorite.
