Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After eight days off, Lourdes returns to the court to play three games in a six-day span. The Gray Wolves begin the month of December at Lawrence Tech before stepping out of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday to host Wilberforce. The non-conference slate continues Monday evening with a trip to Notre Dame (Ohio).
Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
Dennis Hopson is 34-19 (.642) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach. He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes leads the all-time series against Lawrence Tech 12-6 dating back to Feb. 19, 2021. The Gray Wolves have won two straight meetings after defeating the Blue Devils last season, 87-63, in the Ebeid Rec Center on Feb. 19, 2021. Lawrence Tech holds a 5-3 series edge in Southfield, Mich. Lourdes is 1-0 all-time against Wilberforce after defeating the Bulldogs 115-75 earlier this season on Nov. 13 in Wilberforce, Ohio. This will be the Bulldogs first visit to Sylvania. Lourdes and Notre Dame (Ohio) will be meeting on the hardwood for the first time ever on Monday evening.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes jumped out to a 12-point lead just five minutes into the game on Tuesday on the way to a 94-69 victory over Northwestern Ohio inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
Jackie Harris tallied 22 points while
Joey Holifield added 21 more for the Gray Wolves.
Nick Welch tallied a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils are coming off a 72-63 victory over Rochester (Mich.) last Tuesday (Nov. 23) and have won four of their last five games overall. Brandon Beavers leads Lawrence Tech averaging 18.5 points per game. Gunnar Gustafson adds 12.9 points and a team-leading 8.7 rebounds per outing.
Scouting Wilberforce: The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back setbacks on the road at Georgetown (Ky.) 85-77 and Midway 94-84 last Friday and Saturday and are in the midst of an eight-game road trip. Cali Davis led Wilberforce with 19 points while Jesse Olverson added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds in the initial meeting against Lourdes this season.
Scouting Notre Dame (Ohio): The Falcons enter the week undefeated after defeating West Liberty 82-81 at home last Tuesday (Nov. 23). Notre Dame heads to Glenville State on Wednesday and hosts Concord on Saturday before entertaining the Gray Wolves. Jaedon Willis leads Notre Dame averaging 21.8 points per game this season while Tyland Crawford has added 15.8 points per night. Michael Sampson adds 12.0 points per game along with a team-high 9.5 rebounds while John Godinez is the fourth Falcon tallying double figures, scoring 11.8 points per night.
Super Sub: Jackie Harris has been solid off the bench for the Gray Wolves this season. He is averaging 13.3 points per game in just 18.6 minutes of action. Harris tallied 22 points against Northwestern Ohio on 8-of-11 shooting, including 6-of-8 from three-point range. Harris leads Lourdes with 22 three-point field goals this season and connecting at a 40% clip.
Averaging a Double-Double: Nick Welch is tallying 12.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season for the Gray Wolves. He tallied his third double-double of the year against Northwestern Ohio, scoring 13 points while adding 13 boards.
Perfection (Or Close To It): Joey Holifield has been nearly perfect shooting the basketball this season. The sophomore is shooting a blistering 74.2% (49-of-66) from the floor while also connecting at a 97.2% (35-of-36) clip from the free throw line. Holifield leads Lourdes in scoring averaging 19.1 points per night.
More Double Figure Scoring: Lourdes has five players averaging in double figures this season. In addition to

Little Anderson is pouring in 13.0 points per outing while
McRay White has chipped in 12.4 points per contest.
Lighting Up the Scoreboard: Lourdes is averaging 94.6 points per game through the first seven contests of the season. The Gray Wolves have produced their top two scoring games in program history this season already, having tallied a school record 116 points against East-West before adding 115 in the win over Wilberforce.
Team Captains: The Gray Wolves have named tri-captains for the 2021-2022 season.

Lourdes Tabbed Third in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in third place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Lourdes was picked just ahead of Madonna and just behind Rochester (Mich.) in the league balloting. Indiana Tech is the favorite to win the WHAC in 2021-2022.
This and That: Brett Lauf is averaging 4.9 assists per game this season ... the Gray Wolves are shooting 78.9% as a team from the free throw line ... Lourdes is holding opponents to just 29.4% shooting from three-point range.
