Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: The 2020-2021 regular season comes to a close over the next few days as Lourdes searches for a berth in the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The Gray Wolves head to ninth-ranked Indiana Tech on Sunday afternoon before closing the slate at Concordia (Mich.) on Tuesday night.

Head Coach John Kenger: In his third season on the Lourdes bench, John Kenger sports an 26-48 (.351) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his sixth season overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Kenger has a 65-102 (.389) career mark.  He is the fourth head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Indiana Tech holds a 19-1 series advantage against Lourdes dating back to Jan. 7, 2012 and the Warriors have won 16 consecutive meetings between the two schools.  The Warriors won the first meeting this season 68-56 inside the Ebeid Rec Center on Jan. 27.  Indiana Tech holds a 9-1 series advantage in games played in Fort Wayne, Ind.  Concordia (Mich.) leads the all-time series against Lourdes 16-2 dating back to Oct. 27, 2011.  The Cardinals have won the last three meetings between the two schools after posting a 73-42 win in Ann Arbor, Mich. and a 74-54 victory in the Ebeid Rec Center last season.  This year's first meeting was cancelled due to COVID-19.  Concordia holds an 8-1 advantage all-time in Ann Arbor.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Aquinas rallied from an eight-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Lourdes 54-52 on Feb. 13 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Mary Liedel led the Gray Wolves with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.  On Feb. 14, Siena Heights pulled away from the Gray Wolves in the second half on the way to a 65-48 win in Lourdes' home finale.  Kailani Broyles led Lourdes with 12 points.  Wednesday evening (Feb. 17) Cornerstone expanded upon a one-point halftime lead on the way to downing the Gray Wolves 73-62 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Liedel tallied 13 points while Broyles added 12 more for Lourdes.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The ninth-ranked Warriors have won 10 consecutive games heading into the weekend after defeating Concordia (Mich.) 69-54 on Wednesday evening.  Indiana Tech travels to Rochester (Mich.) with the regular season title on the line Saturday before hosting Lourdes.  Kyra Whitaker leads Indiana Tech averaging 15.0 points per game.  Erika Foy adds 14.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per outing.  Alexis Hill is shooting 54.7% from the floor and tallying 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the Warriors as well.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the weekend having dropped back-to-back games following a 69-54 setback at Indiana Tech on Wednesday night.  Concordia hosts Siena Heights on Saturday and hosts Northwestern Ohio on Sunday before closing the year with the Gray Wolves.  Katie Snow leads Concordia averaging 13.7 points per game while shooting 53.9% from the floor.  J'may Simmons adds 10.1 points and a team-leading 6.4 rebounds per outing for the Cardinals.

Looking for a WHAC Tournament Berth: Lourdes enters the final two games of the regular season in search of a berth in next week's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The top eight schools will qualify for the postseason event.  Seeding and qualification for the tournament will be determined by using the Big South Model, which is a percentage of a team's winning percentage added to the percentage of games completed from the league standings.  This is due to teams playing unequal totals of games this year due to COVID-19.  The official pairings will be released by the WHAC following the conclusion of the regular season on Tuesday.  Lourdes made its first appearance in the WHAC tournament last season, falling at Indiana Tech 74-41 in the quarterfinals.

Semler Tops Assist List: Sara Semler has registered 231 career assists during her four years with the Gray Wolves, most in program history.  She set the school mark at Madonna and has since added to it.  Semler set a career-high at Aquinas (Feb. 13) with nine assists.

Among the Nation's Best: Sara Semler ranks sixth among all NAIA players with a 3.35 assist-to-turnover ratio this season.  The senior guard has dished out 57 helpers while committing just 17 turnovers on the year.

An All-Around Leader: Mary Liedel has led Lourdes in several statistical categories this season.  She is averaging a team-high 12.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.  She also has a team-leading seven blocked shots and is shooting 45.4% from the floor.

On the Steals Chart: Sara Semler also ranks third all-time for the Gray Wolves with 114 career steals.  Jesse Fidler (2014-2017) is the school record-holder with 156 thefts while Molea Thompson (2014-2017) is second with 132.

This and That: Lourdes has only played one overtime game since 2016 (Jan. 4, 2020 - Ohio Christian) ... Mary Liedel, Shae Pedroza, and Sara Semler have started all 14 games ... 13 different Gray Wolves have made a three-pointer this season.
