Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After upsetting regular season champion Rochester (Mich.) on Thursday night, eighth-seeded Lourdes heads to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference semifinals on Saturday afternoon to battle fourth-seeded Concordia as the schools meet for the third time in five days.
Head Coach John Kenger: In his third season on the Lourdes bench,
John Kenger sports an 27-51 (.346) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Â In his sixth season overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Kenger has a 66-105 (.386) career mark. Â He is the fourth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Concordia (Mich.) leads the all-time series against Lourdes 18-2 dating back to Oct. 27, 2011, the inaugural game for the Gray Wolf program. Â The Cardinals won both previous meetings this season, a 71-66 win inside the Ebeid Rec Center on Monday and 75-62 in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Tuesday. Â Concordia holds a 9-1 series edge all-time in Ann Arbor.
This Season's Previous Meetings: Lourdes led by one at halftime but Concordia (Mich.) rallied in the second half on Monday for a 71-66 victory. Â
Shae Pedroza led the Gray Wolves with 20 points while
Mary Liedel had 19 in the setback. Â One night later in Ann Arbor, the Cardinals used a 21-4 second quarter run to defeat the Gray Wolves 75-62. Â Liedel had 16 points while
Sara Semler added 12 for Lourdes.
Wrapping Up the WHAC Quarters: Lourdes held WHAC regular season champ and top seed Rochester (Mich.) to just 13.5% shooting in the first half and build a 34-14 halftime lead before holding on for a 66-60 victory on Thursday in Rochester Hills, Mich. Â

Kailani Broyles scored 16 points each while
Leah Goodwin and
Gabby Stover added 10 points. Â The Gray Wolves limited the Warriors to just 27.6% shooting from the floor for the evening, including 18.5% (5-of-27) from three-point range.
Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the WHAC semifinals having won four straight after downing fifth-seeded Lawrence Tech 77-66 at home on Thursday. Â Katie Snow leads fourth-seeded Concordia averaging 13.7 points per game while J'may Simmons adds 10.8 points and a team-leading 6.4 rebounds per night. Â
Lourdes in the WHAC Tournament: The win against Rochester (Mich.) on Thursday was first ever for the Gray Wolves in the WHAC tournament as Lourdes is competing in the event for just the second time in program history. Â The Gray Wolves were also the eighth seed in 2020, falling on the road 74-41 at Indiana Tech in the quarterfinals.
Solid Defense: Lourdes played stifling defense on Rochester (Mich.) in the first half, allowing the Warriors to score just 14 total points before halftime. Â The Gray Wolves limited Rochester to 13.5% (5-of-37) from the floor in the opening 20 minutes while also forcing 10 turnovers. Â
Goodwin Records First Career Double-Double: Leah Goodwin had her first career double-double game as a collegian on Thursday. Â The sophomore scored 10 points while pulling down a career-high 11 rebounds, including five on the offensive end of the floor.
Running the Offense: Sara Semler was a big leader in the Lourdes offense at Rochester (Mich.). Â The senior guard handed out a game-high seven assists while also adding eight points.
Block Party: Lourdes entered the WHAC tournament having blocked just 28 shots in the 17 regular season games. Â The Gray Wolves rejected six Rochester (Mich.) attempts on Thursday with five different players recording a block. Â
Leah Goodwin had two rejections.
Semler Tops Assist List: Sara Semler has registered 243 career assists during her four years with the Gray Wolves, most in program history. Â She set the school mark at Madonna and has since added to it. Â Semler set a career-high at Aquinas (Feb. 13) with nine assists.
Among the Nation's Best: Sara Semler ranks 23rd among all NAIA players with a 2.56 assist-to-turnover ratio this season. Â The senior guard has dished out 69 helpers while committing just 27 turnovers on the year.
Liedel Shooting the Ball Well from Three: Mary Liedel has been the Gray Wolves' top three-point shooter this season. Â The junior has drained 31 triples in 17 games and her 41.9% shooting from beyond the arc ranks her 34th among all NAIA players nationally.
On the Steals Chart: Sara Semler also ranks third all-time for the Gray Wolves with 116 career steals. Â
Jesse Fidler (2014-2017) is the school record-holder with 156 thefts while
Molea Thompson (2014-2017) is second with 132.
This and That: Lourdes has only played one overtime game since 2016 (Jan. 4, 2020 - Ohio Christian) ...
