Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After a pair of victories, Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play begins this week for the Lourdes Gray Wolves.  Lourdes takes to the road on Wednesday evening to battle Concordia (Mich.) before returning to the Ebeid Rec Center on Saturday to entertain Michigan-Dearborn.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his fourth season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 55-25 (.688) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: The Gray Wolves hold a 16-9 series advantage against Concordia (Mich.) dating back to Nov. 2, 2010.  Lourdes has won the last seven games against the Cardinals after sweeping the season series one year ago.  Lourdes won 89-72 in the Ebeid Rec Center and 69-41 in Ann Arbor, Mich.  The Gray Wolves hold a 7-6 series edge in Ann Arbor.  Lourdes is 13-7 all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began Jan. 14, 2012.  The Gray Wolves won both games last season from the Wolverines, scoring a 76-53 win on the road and a 77-52 victory in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 4-1 against Michigan-Dearborn in the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the home portion of its schedule on Saturday with an 81-70 victory over Adrian on Homecoming weekend.  Jackie Harris led the way with 17 points while Little Anderson added 13 more.  Joey Holifield (12 points) and Bret Lauf (11 points) both finished the game in double figures as well.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals are still looking for their first win of the season after falling at Point Park 56-43 on Saturday afternoon.  Jayden Priddy leads Concordia averaging 14.0 points per game while Kip French adds 11.0 points per night.  Zac Clark is leading the Cardinals on the glass, averaging 6.3 rebounds per outing.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Judson 90-89 in double overtime.  Michigan-Dearborn hosts Cornerstone on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Maurice Anderson leads the Wolverines in scoring this season, averaging 10.8 points per outing.  Elwood Tomlinson has added 9.8 points per game while on the glass, Jimmy Breaux is pulling down 7.0 rebounds per night.

WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 5-6 in program history in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers.  The Gray Wolves dropped last season's league opener at Aquinas 90-87.  Lourdes has never opened conference play against Concordia (Mich.) prior to this season.

Now That's Balanced Offense: Lourdes has four players averaging in double figures through the first two games of the season with a fifth tallying 9.5 points per game.  Jackie Harris leads the way at 17.0 points per contest while Joey Holifield has added 15.0 points per night.  Clif Snow has come off the bench to score 11.5 points per outing while Little Anderson chips in 11.0 points per game.  Marcus Larsson is just shy of double figures at 9.5 points per night.

Crashing the Boards: Lourdes outrebounded Adrian 41-25 in the victory on Saturday, including 16-7 on the offensive end.  The 16 offensive rebounds led to 22 second chance points and contributed to 44 points in the paint on the afternoon.

Looking to Match Program's Best Start: Only once has Lourdes started a season 3-0.  The Gray Wolves won their first three contests in 2015-2016 before falling to top-ranked Cornerstone in game four to end their perfect start to the season.

Snow Surpasses 1,500 Career Points: With his eight-point effort on Saturday against Adrian, Clif Snow surpassed the 1,500-point plateau for his career.  He has scored 1,506 points while wearing the terra cotta and black, an average of 14.3 points per game.

Collegiate Debuts: Freshmen Stephen Coleman Jr. and Nic Borojevich both made their collegiate debuts for the Gray Wolves on Saturday against Adrian.  Coleman had two points and two rebounds in six minutes of action while Borojevich played nine minutes.

Racking Up the Points: Lourdes has scored more than 80 points in each of its first two games this season.  The Gray Wolves tallied 80 or more points 12 times in 32 games one season ago on the way to averaging 81.5 points per game on the season.

Lourdes Tabbed Third in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in third place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Cornerstone and just behind Madonna in the league balloting.  Indiana Tech is the favorite to win the WHAC in 2022-2023.

This and That: Lourdes is shooting 70.0% from the free throw line and 52.0% from the field thus far this season ... the Gray Wolves have handed out 28 assists while committing just 25 turnovers ... Lourdes has not played an overtime game since Feb. 5, 202 against Michigan-Dearborn (lost 86-78).
