Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play opens for Lourdes this week with a pair of contests. The Gray Wolves take to the road for the first time in 2022-2023 on Wednesday evening, beginning WHAC play at Concordia (Mich.) before returning home on Saturday to entertain Michigan-Dearborn.
Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her second season on the Lourdes bench,
Tandy Bradford sports a 12-21 (.364) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In her fifth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 33-80 (.292) career mark. She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Concordia (Mich.) holds a 21-2 all-time edge against Lourdes in a series that began Oct. 27, 2011. The Cardinals have won eight straight against the Gray Wolves after sweeping last year's meetings 69-57 in the Ebeid Rec Center and 65-53 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Concordia holds an 11-1 all-time edge in games played in Ann Arbor. Michigan-Dearborn is 12-8 all-time against Lourdes dating back to Jan. 14, 2012. The two sides split their meetings last year, with each winning on the other's home floor. Lourdes was a 64-63 victory while the Wolverines won 65-60. Michigan-Dearborn holds a 4-1 series edge inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves dropped their first game of the season on Thursday 78-54 at home against Spring Arbor.
Emma Pedroza led Lourdes with 11 points off the bench. On Saturday, Lourdes rebounded with a 67-42 victory against Adrian.

Scouting Concordia: The Cardinals enter WHAC play having fallen 80-58 to Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday. Taylor Leatherman leads Concordia averaging 18.3 points per game while Samantha Dorn adds 11.0 points per night. Keirslynn Lawless is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 5.8 boards per night. Julia Hirt is just shy of double figures, scoring 9.8 points per contest.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines enter the week having dropped three straight games following a 95-75 setback at home on Saturday against Mount Vernon Nazarene. Michigan-Dearborn hosts Cornerstone on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes. Siena Smith leads Michigan-Dearborn averaging 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Maya Barakat adds 8.0 points per night for the Wolverines.
WHAC Openers: Lourdes is 2-9 all-time in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers entering Wednesday's game at Concordia (Mich.). Lourdes has dropped three consecutive league openers after the Gray Wolves fell in their first WHAC game of the 2021-2022 season on the road at Aquinas 56-37. Lourdes and Concordia have met in the WHAC opener just once before. The Cardinals prevailed 93-59 at Tam-o-Shanter in the first game in the history of the Gray Wolves' program.
Sisters Leading the Way: Emma Pedroza and
Shae Pedroza have been the leading scorers thus far for the Gray Wolves. Emma paced Lourdes in both of its wins, scoring 13 points in the season opener against Mount Vernon Nazarene while matching that point total in the victory over Adrian. Emma was the lone Gray Wolf to score in double figures against Spring Arbor, tallying 11 points in the loss.
Stringfellow Tallies Double Figures: After scoring just five points combined in her first two collegiate games,
Macie Stringfellow broke through against Adrian. The redshirt-freshman tallied 12 points, making 4-of-6 shots from the floor along with all three of her free throws.
Jemaa Running the Offense: Nadeen Jemaa has run the point for the Gray Wolves this season. The redshirt-junior has handed out eight assists while committing just five turnovers. Defensively she has registered five steals as well, just one off the team lead held by
Shae Pedroza.
Lots of Action: The Gray Wolves have used lots of different combinations on the court thus far this season. Lourdes has 11 players averaging 12 or more minutes of action through three games this season. Eight different players have drawn starting assignments already, with just
Shae Pedroza,
Halle Barnett, and
Nadeen Jemaa on the court for the tip in all three contests.
Ryan Makes Her Debut: Grace Ryan saw her first collegiate action on Saturday in the win over Adrian. The freshman went 3-for-4 from the free throw line, pulled down a pair of rebounds, and blocked a shot in four minutes of play.
Lourdes Tabbed Seventh in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in seventh place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Lourdes was picked just behind Concordia (Mich.) and just ahead of Madonna in the balloting. Indiana Tech was tabbed as the preseason favorite.
