Lourdes Concludes Road Trip with a Pair of Games

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes wraps up a four-game road trip with two more non-conference contests this week.  The Gray Wolves head to Ohio Christian for a Thursday evening game before traveling to Indiana-Southeast on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her second season on the Lourdes bench, Tandy Bradford sports a 15-27 (.357) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her fifth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 36-86 (.295) career mark.  She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Ohio Christian holds a 3-0 all-time series edge over the Gray Wolves dating back to Nov. 5, 2018.  The Trailblazers won last season's meeting 74-69 in Circleville, Ohio and hold a 2-0 series advantage all-time at home.  Lourdes and Indiana-Southeast will be meeting on the hardwood for the first time on Saturday.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes scored its first road victory of the season on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves defeated Madonna 72-61.  Logan Ingram tallied 14 poins while Shae Pedroza and Mercedes Wagner each tallied 11 points in the win.  On Monday night, Kentucky Christian rallied from nine points down in the fourth quarter to defeat Lourdes 69-61 in Grayson, Ky.  Pedroza had a team-high 14 points while Macie Stringfellow added 11 points.  Grace Ryan came off the bench to chip in 10 more for the Gray Wolves.

Scouting Ohio Christian: The Trailblazers are coming off a 67-61 victory at Point Park on Saturday afternoon and have won two of their last three games.  Rachel Bolyard leads Ohio Christian in scoring, averaging 18.1 points per game.  Haley Cox adds 13.8 points per outing while Ashley DeWeese chips in 11.5 points per night.  On the glass, Emma Koons is pulling down a team-leading 8.4 rebounds per game.

Scouting Indiana-Southeast: The Grenadiers enter the week following an 86-56 win on the road at Indiana-Kokomo on Dec. 3.  Indiana-Southeast hosts Fisk on Tuesday and Goshen on Friday evening prior to entertaining Lourdes.  Emmy Ralph is Indiana-Kokomo's leading scorer, tallying 21.8 points per game.  Lauren Lambdin adds 16.5 points per outing.  On the boards, Sierra Graham is pulling down a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game.

Facing the River States Conference: Lourdes is 3-6 all-time against the River States Conference.  The Gray Wolves are 3-1 against Carlow and 0-2 against Midway in addition to having faced Ohio Christian.

Breaking Through on the Road: Lourdes picked up its first road win of the season on Friday with its 11-point triumph at Madonna.  The Gray Wolves snapped a seven-game skid away from the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes' last win away from home had come on Jan. 26, 2022 at Northwestern Ohio.

Ingram Tallies Double Figures for First Time: Logan Ingram made four three-point field goals on Friday evening at Madonna to tally double figures for the first time this season.  The senior finished with 14 points, topping double figures for the first time since scoring 13 last season against Michigan-Dearborn on Feb. 12.  Ingram's career high is 17 points, which occurred twice during the 2021-2022 season.

Block Party: Lourdes rejected a season-high six shots in the win at Madonna on Friday evening.  The Gray Wolves had just 21 rejections over the first 10 games prior to facing the Crusaders.  Lourdes has not blocked more than three shots in any other game this season.  Halle Barnett leads the way with 11 swats on the year.

Making Shots: Shae Pedroza is connecting at a 92.1% clip from the free throw line on the season, the best mark in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.  She has missed just three attempts all year (35-of-38).  Halle Barnett is shooting 54.5% from the floor for the Gray Wolves this season.  Her field goal percentage mark ranks fifth in the conference this season.

Sisters Leading the Scoring Race: Shae Pedroza has taken over the team's scoring lead this season averaging 10.8 points per game.  Her sister, freshman Emma Pedroza is second for Lourdes in scoring this season, averaging 10.1 points per game.  They are the only two Gray Wolves averaging in double figures.  

Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has had 11 different players draw at least one starting assignment this season.  Halle Barnett, Shae Pedroza, and Nadeen Jemaa have been on the floor for the tip in all 12 games with eight other players starting at the other two spots.

Lourdes Tabbed Seventh in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in seventh place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just behind Concordia (Mich.) and just ahead of Madonna in the balloting.  Indiana Tech was tabbed as the preseason favorite.

This and That: Shae Pedroza leads current players with 568 career points ... Logan Ingram has surpassed 400 career points and now has 414 as a Gray Wolves ... Mercedes Wagner is the team's top active career rebounder with 264 boards ... Lourdes is shooting 73.4% from the free throw line as a team this year, second best mark in the WHAC.
