Alban Bruyas (Grenoble, France/Lycee Philippine Duchesne) fired a two-over par round of 74 to take home medalist honors on Thursday, helping lead the Gray Wolves to a third place finish as a team at the Cleary Spring Invitational held at Mystic Creek Golf Club in Milford, Mich.

"I am very proud of my guys," head coach
Gil Guerrero said afterwards. "It was very difficult for them out there today. This course is not easy, and we had to play it sight unseen. Alban gutted it out and made some fantastic shots and putts when he needed them."

Bruyas finished one stroke ahead of Cleary's Mike Kee and Aquinas' James Murray, leading the Gray Wolves to a 321 total as a team. Aquinas won the tournament at 315, two shots ahead of Cleary. Spring Arbor finished fourth nine shots behind the Gray Wolves.

Jack Murphy (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.),
Tedmund Schroyer (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.), and
Isaac Simmons (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa H.S.) all tied for 11
th with rounds of 82 while
Gaige Keane (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) and
Lucas Patterson (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) each carded 83s.Â
Hunter DeWeese (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.) fired an 84 on the 6,685-yard, par-72 layout. Schroyer and Patterson were playing as individuals.

The Gray Wolves will return to action on Tuesday, hosting the Lourdes Spring Invitational at The Legacy Golf Club. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
