Day 2 Match Play Results
Playing in the championship match of the WHAC Fall Preview on Tuesday, Lourdes fell to top-seeded Lawrence Tech 4-1 at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich.
"This was a great two days for us," head coach
Gil Guerrero said afterwards. "The kids played tough and took their matches down to the wire."
Alban Bruyas (Grenoble, France/Lycee Philippine Duchesne) was the lone winner on the final day of competition for the Gray Wolves, winning his match 3&2.
The Blue Devils won points at each of the other four spots. Lourdes'
Jack Murphy (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.) fell 5&4 while
Isaac Simmons (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa H.S.) dropped a 3&2 decision.
Justin Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.) fell 2&1 while
Ryan Klausing (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) pushed his match all 18 holes before dropping a 1-up decision.
Lourdes will now be off until Oct. 10 when it hosts the Gray Wolf Invitational. The shotgun start is slated for 10 a.m. at Sylvania Country Club.
