Final Results
Lourdes opened its 2022-2023 season hosting the Lourdes Invitational on Thursday afternoon and came away with a runner-up finish at The Legacy Golf Club.
The Gray Wolves fired a round of 295, one shot behind champion Madonna and four strokes ahead of third place Lawrence Tech in the field of 12 schools.
Individually,
Jack Murphy (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.) fired a three-under par round of 69, matching his collegiate best score, to finish in second place. Murphy was one stroke behind medalist Harrison Bowman of Madonna.
Jacob Geis (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) posted his collegiate best score of even par 72 to finish sixth while
Isaac Simmons (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa H.S.) carded a 73.
Justin Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.), making his collegiate debut, fired a 74 on the 6,895-yard, par-72 layout while
Gaige Keane (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) added a 75.
Ryan Klausing (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.) carded a 76 while
Alban Bruyas (Grenoble, France/Lycee Philippine Duchesne),
Hunter DeWeese (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.), and
Lucas Patterson (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) posted 77s as a total of nine of the 15 Gray Wolves that played in the events shot in the 70s.
Lourdes will return to action with a 54-hole event on Monday and Tuesday hosted by Concordia (Mich.). The Gray Wolves will play the first 36 holes of the Cardinal Classic on Monday beginning at 8 a.m. at Washtenaw Country Club in Ann Arbor, Mich.
