After an eight-year hiatus, the Lourdes University dance team returns as the Gray Wolves are set for a competitive season in 2023.
Â
Head coach
Lauren Wilson has brought together a roster of seven dancers, as the program has been reinstated for the first time since 2015.
Â
While collegiate competition is new to everyone in the program, Lourdes will rely upon the cleanliness of its routine and the communication of the student-athletes in hopes of putting together a successful campaign.
Â
Kelli Altman and
Nicole Koepf are both good performers on the floor while
Kylee Rogers and
Allison Duffey are technically strong.Â
Katrina Nolan excels in the pom portion of the routine, especially with her jumps. This is the first time on a competitive team for
Toni Haythorne, but her uplifting and positive attitude allows her to learn and improve every day.
Â
This year's routine is upbeat and fun in a sassy and strong way.
Â
The Gray Wolves will open their season on Friday, January 13, taking part in the Cardinal Invitational, the first of five events on this year's schedule. The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships will take place at Madonna on Feb. 17 to wrap up the campaign.
Â
While the Gray Wolves will be competing for the first time, Lourdes already has experience performing in front of crowds. The team was part of the Alamo Bowl halftime performance in San Antonio, Texas in December, and will look to carry its positive momentum into the upcoming season.
