Game #22: Wednesday, January 25, 6:30 p.m. EST
at Aquinas (9-11, 5-8 WHAC)
Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center - Grand Rapids, Mich.

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After having its six-game regular season winning streak snapped, Lourdes returns to the hardwood for just one game this week.  The Gray Wolves travel to Aquinas on Wednesday evening with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m., one hour earlier than originally announced due to impending weather.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his fourth season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 68-31 (.687) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes leads the all-time series against Aquinas 12-10 dating back to Nov. 30, 2011.  The Gray Wolves have won two straight meetings between the two schools after downing the Saints earlier this season 80-62 on Nov. 30 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Aquinas holds a 7-4 series advantage in games played in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes won its sixth consecutive game last Wednesday (Jan. 18), defeating Siena Heights 82-62 at home.  Little Anderson tallied 21 points while Jackie Harris scored 16 more for the Gray Wolves in the victory.  Joey Holifield just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.  On Saturday (Jan. 21), Cornerstone rallied from a 12-point first half deficit to defeat the Gray Wolves 91-84 in the Ebeid Rec Center.  Jackie Harris had a game-high 23 points for Lourdes while Anderson added 19 more.  Holifield tallied 15 points and Clif Snow scored 13 as four Gray Wolves finished in double figures.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints are coming off a 74-63 non-conference victory at home over Grace Christian on Saturday afternoon.  Gabe Overway leads three Aquinas players scoring in double figures, tallying 14.0 points per game.  Overway also leads the Saints on the glass, grabbing 7.0 rebounds per contest.  Donovan Brown-Boyd adds 12.1 points per game while Menalito McGee chips in 10.8 points per night.

Making Shots Key to Lourdes Success: Lourdes is 11-0 this season when shooting a better percentage from the floor than its opponents.  On the year, the Gray Wolves are connecting at a 46.4% clip from the field.  Joey Holifield leads the way for the Gray Wolves, shooting 56.0% from the floor, a mark that is sixth best in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Super Sub: Clif Snow has come off the bench in all but three games this season but is still averaging 25.8 minutes per contest.  He is averaging 9.6 points per night while pulling down 6.2 rebounds per game, a mark that is second best on the team.  The fifth-year senior has scored in double figures eight times and has a pair of double-doubles to his credit in 2022-2023.

From Downtown: Jackie Harris leads the WHAC with 63 three-point field goals this season, averaging 3.0 per game.  He has 105 total triples over his two years with the Gray Wolves, shooting at a 39.5% career clip from beyond the arc.

Anderson Filling the Stat Sheet: Little Anderson has done a little of everything for the Gray Wolves this season.  He ranks third in scoring at 13.0 points per game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds per night, fourth most on the team.  His 47 total assists rank second on the squad while he is third with 24 steals.  Anderson leads Lourdes with 15 blocked shots this season as well.

Among the League Leaders: Jackie Harris and Joey Holifield have both moved into the top-five in the WHAC in scoring this season.  Harris is fourth in the league at 16.6 points per game while Holifield ranks fifth in the conference at 16.2 points per night.

A Pair of 1,000-Point Scorers: Earlier this season, Little Anderson became just the third player in program history to reach 1,000 points for his career at Lourdes.  The senior enters play this week with 1,116 career points, third most in program history.  Clif Snow was the second Gray Wolf in program history to reach the milestone, doing so during the 2020-2021 campaign and enters this weekend with a school-record 1,685 career points.

Snow Sets Rebounding Record: Clif Snow became Lourdes University's all-time leading rebounder with five boards against Rochester (Mich.) on Jan. 7.  Earlier this year he became just the second Gray Wolf in program history to reach the 800-board plateau and broke the program record of 825 boards set by Zach Steinmetz (2013-2016).  Snow enters the week with 857 rebounds in his five seasons with the Gray Wolves.

Picking Up a Ranked Win: The victory over 11th-ranked Indiana Tech on Jan. 11 was the 14th all-time win for the Gray Wolves against a NAIA top-25 foe.  Lourdes is 6-3 in its last night games against ranked competition, dating back to November of 2019.

Lourdes Tabbed Third in Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in third place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  Lourdes was picked just ahead of Cornerstone and just behind Madonna in the league balloting.  Indiana Tech is the favorite to win the WHAC in 2022-2023.

This and That: Joey Holifield, Jackie Harris, and Little Anderson have started all 21 games this season ... Lourdes is outscoring opponents 827-680 in the first half this season ... the Gray Wolves are committing just 11.5 turnovers per night ... Charles Swain is shooting 41.4% from three-point range ... Wednesday's game at Aquinas will be the 100th for Dennis Hopson at the helm of the Gray Wolves.
