Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: After a week off for final exams, Lourdes returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon. The Gray Wolves continue their four-game road trip heading to Grand Rapids, Mich. to face Aquinas in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action.
Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her third season on the Lourdes bench,
Tandy Bradford sports a 22-44 (.333) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In her fifth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 43-103 (.295) career mark. She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Aquinas holds a 20-3 all-time advantage against Lourdes in a series that began Nov. 30, 2011. The Gray Wolves swept last year's season series against the Saints, notching a 68-64 victory in the Ebeid Rec Center and a 71-61 win in Grand Rapids, Mich. Aquinas is 11-1 against the Gray Wolves all-time in Grand Rapids.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Cornerstone jumped out to a 16-point halftime lead on Wednesday (Nov. 29) on the way to defeating Lourdes 75-62 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Macie Stringfellow led Lourdes with 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while
Nadeen Jemaa came off the bench to tally 13 points.
Emma Pedroza also finished in double figures with 10 points. On Saturday (Dec. 2), Lourdes defeated Northwestern Ohio 77-74 on the road in Lima, Ohio. Jemaa had a game-high 16 points while Pedroza added 12 more. Stringfellow and
Nakiya Sigman both tallied double figures as well, scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.
Scouting Aquinas: The Saints enter the week following a 71-60 setback at home against Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 2). Aquinas travels to Saint Francis (Ill.) on Wednesday night before hosting the Gray Wolves. Alona Blackwell leads the Saints in scoring this season, averaging 25.0 points per game. She is shooting 49% from the floor. Ciara Hardy adds 15.1 points per contest while pulling down a team-high 8.5 rebounds per outing.
Much Improved on the Road: Lourdes has already matched its win total away from the Ebeid Rec Center from the entire 2022-2023 season. The Gray Wolves are 2-2 thus far this season on opponents' home courts after posting a 2-13 road record one year ago. Lourdes did not win its first road game last season until Dec. 9 at Madonna.
Getting to the Offensive Glass: In a game that was nearly statistically even, Lourdes held a 15-4 edge on the offensive glass on the way to defeating Northwestern Ohio by three points on Saturday. The Gray Wolves turned the 15 offensive boards into 14 second chance points. Lourdes has averaged more than 3.5 more offensive boards than their opponents this season.
Jemaa Finding the Scoring Column: Nadeen Jemaa had scored just 21 points through the first five games this season before exploding offensively in a pair of contests last week. Jemaa tallied 13 points off the bench on Wednesday at Cornerstone before scoring a season-high 16 points on Saturday in the win at Northwestern Ohio. Jemaa is now averaging 7.1 points per game.
Stringfellow Notches Second Double-Double: Macie Stringfellow recorded her second double-double of the season last Wednesday at Cornerstone. She scored a team-high 14 points while also pulling down 10 rebounds after recording a 12-point-12-rebound contest earlier this year at Mount Vernon Nazarene (Nov. 10). They are the only two double-doubles in her career at Lourdes.
Getting Defensive in the Second: Lourdes is outscoring its opponents 115-89 in the second quarter this season. The Gray Wolf defense is yielding just 12.7 points per game during that period.
Crashing the Boards: Halle Barnett pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds for the Gray Wolves at Northwestern Ohio, her first double figure rebounding game of the season and third of her career. She was one board shy of matching her career high.
A Balanced Offensive Attack: Lourdes has four players averaging between 9.3 and 10.7 points per game this season.
Emma Pedroza has led the way for the Gray Wolves tallying 10.7 points per night while
Macie Stringfellow adds 9.9 points per game.

Shae Pedroza follow at 9.6 and 9.3 points per contest respectively.
Nearing 900: Shae Pedroza leads all Gray Wolf players with 85 points over the last four years in a Gray Wolf uniform. Pedroza has averaged 10.4 points per game for the Gray Wolves over the course of her career.
Reaching 100: The victory over Adrian on Nov. 4 was the Gray Wolves 100th in the women's basketball program's history. Lourdes began playing women's basketball in the 2011-2012 season and is now 100-246 all-time.
Lourdes Tabbed Sixth in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in sixth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Lourdes was picked just behind Rochester (Mich.) and just ahead of Lawrence Tech in the balloting. Indiana Tech was tabbed as the unanimous preseason favorite.
