Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: The 2022-2023 regular season comes to a close this week with Lourdes battling for a spot in the WHAC tournament that begins on Feb. 22.  The Gray Wolves head to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening before closing the campaign on Saturday with a trip to 16th-ranked Indiana Tech.

Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her second season on the Lourdes bench, Tandy Bradford sports a 19-37 (.339) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In her fifth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 40-96 (.294) career mark.  She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lawrence Tech leads the all-time series against Lourdes 15-4 dating back to Nov. 17, 2012.  The Blue Devils have won three straight in the series after defeating the Gray Wolves 56-52 inside the Ebeid Rec Center on Dec. 3.  Lawrence Tech is 8-1 against Lourdes in Southfield, Mich.  Indiana Tech holds a 23-1 all-time advantage against the Gray Wolves in a series that began Jan. 7, 2012.  The Warriors have won the last 20 meetings between the two teams after posting an 84-41 win in the Ebeid Rec Center on Jan. 11.  Indiana Tech is 11-1 against Lourdes all-time in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Mercedes Wagner scored 17 points and Emma Pedroza had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves defeated Madonna 75-53 at home.  Lourdes then closed out the home schedule on Saturday afternoon with an 83-78 triumph over Northwestern Ohio.  Wagner led four Gray Wolves in double figures with 18 points while Nadeen Jemaa added 16 points and eight rebounds.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils are coming off a 75-54 setback at home against Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday.  Kendall Fisher is the lone Lawrence Tech player averaging in double figures, scoring 16.1 points per game while handing out 5.4 assists per night.  Maggie Long adds 9.0 points per contest.  Kate Jacobs is the Blue Devils' leading rebounder, grabbing 5.6 boards per night.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week having won three straight games after defeating Aquinas 57-50 on the road Saturday.  Indiana Tech hosts Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday before closing the regular season against Lourdes.  Kyra Whitaker leads Indiana Tech averaging 16.7 points per game while Erika Foy adds 15.1 points and a team-leading 9.2 rebounds per contest.  Genevieve Decker chips in 10.7 points per game while Taylor Covington gives the Warriors four double figure scorers, tallying 10.2 points per night.

A Battle for a WHAC Tournament Berth: Lourdes enters the final week of the regular season controlling its own destiny for a spot in the WHAC tournament.  The Gray Wolves currently sit in the eighth, and final position, and hold a one-game lead over Aquinas.  Lourdes has the tie-breaker over the Saints by virtue of a season sweep thus one win this week by the Gray Wolves or two losses by Aquinas will guarantee Lourdes a spot in postseason play.

Still a Chance to Match the Win Record: Lourdes enters the final week of the regular season two wins shy of the school record for victories in a season.  The Gray Wolves won 11 games in both 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 and with two wins this week would equal that mark.

Pedroza Registers First Collegiate Double-Double: Emma Pedroza had her first collegiate double-double on Wednesday in the victory over Madonna.  The freshman guard scored 13 points while pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds.  Pedroza's double-double was the first by a Gray Wolf this season.

Wagner Has Big Week: Mercedes Wagner had two of her highest scoring out puts of the season last week.  She came off the bench to score 17 points against Madonna before adding 18 more in the win over Northwestern Ohio.  Only her 19-point effort on Nov. 12 against Michigan-Dearborn topped her performances last week.

Shae Pedroza Continues to Hold the WHAC Lead: Shae Pedroza is connecting at an 89.1% clip from the free throw line on the season, the best mark in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.  She has missed just seven attempts all year (57-of-64).  Pedroza ranks seventh nationally among all NAIA players from the charity stripe this year.

Barnett Grabs Career High: Halle Barnett pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds in the victory over Madonna, her second double figure rebounding game of the season and of her collegiate career.  Barnett leads Lourdes on the offensive glass this season grabbing 42 offensive caroms.

Leading the Team in Scoring as a Rookie: Emma Pedroza has become a scoring machine for the Gray Wolves this season, leading Lourdes averaging 13.0 points per game as a freshman.  She has tallied double figures 18 times in total during her rookie season.

This and That: Shae Pedroza is the team's active scoring leader with 736 points over her three seasons ... Mercedes Wagner has 336 career rebounds ... Halle Barnett is shooting 53.3% from the floor on the season, the lone Gray Wolf over 50% ... Barnett also has a team-leading 21 blocked shots Shae Pedroza and Nadeen Jemaa are the only two Gray Wolves to start all 26 games this season ... the game against Indiana Tech will be the 56th time Lourdes has faced a ranked opponent in program history (2-53).
