Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: The penultimate week of the regular season has arrived and Lourdes closes out the home slate with a pair of games.  The Gray Wolves entertain Madonna on Wednesday evening before hosting Northwestern Ohio for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as Lourdes looks to remain in second place in the WHAC standings.

Head Coach Dennis Hopson: In his fourth season on the Lourdes bench, Dennis Hopson is 71-31 (.696) with the Gray Wolves and as a men's collegiate head coach.  He is only the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Madonna leads the all-time series against Lourdes 17-10 dating back to Nov. 6, 2010.  The Crusaders have won four of the last five meetings between the two schools after an 84-76 victory in Livonia, Mich. on Dec. 9.  Madonna is 5-0 against the Gray Wolves inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes holds a 14-12 edge against Northwestern Ohio in a series that began Dec. 30, 2010.  The Racers have won the last two meetings between the schools after posting a 59-58 victory in Lima, Ohio on Nov. 22.  The Gray Wolves are 5-1 against Northwestern Ohio inside the Ebeid Rec Center.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes scored the game's first 15 points on Wednesday (Feb. 1) as the Gray Wolves cruised to an 84-59 victory over Concordia (Mich.).  Little Anderson and Jackie Harris each scored 15 points while Joey Holifield tallied 14 more.  Stephen Coleman Jr. gave Lourdes four double digit scorers with his 13-point effort.  On Saturday (Feb. 4), the Gray Wolves scored a 75-68 win on the road at Rochester (Mich.).  Harris had a game-high 21 points while Anderson added 16 more.  Holifield tallied 15 points and Clif Snow had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders have won back-to-back games after a 72-64 victory over Northwestern Ohio last Wednesday (Feb. 1).  Mark Mettie leads Madonna averaging 15.4 points per game this season.  Brendan Young adds 14.6 points and a team-leading 8.5 rebounds per game.  Henry Speight is also scoring in double figures for the Crusaders, tallying 14.5 points per night.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers enter the week having defeated Michigan-Dearborn 97-84 on Saturday (Feb. 4).  Northwestern Ohio hosts Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Biggz Johnson leads the Racers in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per contest this year.  Hunter Bode has added 12.5 points and a team-leading 5.6 rebounds per game.  Trevon Wells and Mohamad Kraidly are both scoring in double figures as well for the Racers, posting 11.2 points per game each.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor seniors Little Anderson, Sterling Hopkins, and James Richardson Jr. prior to Saturday's game with Northwestern Ohio.  In addition, Brett Lauf, Clif Snow, and Charles Swain will be concluding their regular season home careers on Saturday.  All three had previously been honored for Senior Day.

Nearing 20 Wins: Lourdes needs just two more victories this season to reach the 20-win plateau for the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years.  The Gray Wolves are looking for their fourth 20-win season in program history.

A Bunched Standings: With four regular season games to play, Lourdes is in second place in the WHAC standings, one game ahead of third place Madonna and Rochester (Mich.).  The top four teams earn home games in the quarterfinals of the WHAC tournament while the top two teams would be at home in the semifinals provided they win in the quarters.

Another Double-Double for Snow: Clif Snow recorded his third double-double of the season on Saturday with his 13-point, 11-rebound effort at Rochester (Mich.).  Snow now has 15 double-doubles during his five-year Lourdes career.

From Downtown: Jackie Harris leads the WHAC with 73 three-point field goals this season, averaging 3.0 per game.  He has 115 total triples over his two years with the Gray Wolves, shooting at a 40.8% career clip from beyond the arc.

Among the League Leaders: Jackie Harris and Joey Holifield have both ranked among the top-five in the WHAC in scoring for most of this season.  Harris is fourth in the league at 16.8 points per game while Holifield ranks fifth in the conference at 16.2 points per night.

A Pair of 1,000-Point Scorers: Earlier this season, Little Anderson became just the third player in program history to reach 1,000 points for his career at Lourdes.  The senior enters play this week with 1,161 career points, third most in program history.  Clif Snow was the second Gray Wolf in program history to reach the milestone, doing so during the 2020-2021 campaign and enters this weekend with a school-record 1,718 career points.

Snow Sets Rebounding Record: Clif Snow became Lourdes University's all-time leading rebounder with five boards against Rochester (Mich.) on Jan. 7.  Earlier this year he became just the second Gray Wolf in program history to reach the 800-board plateau and broke the program record of 825 boards set by Zach Steinmetz (2013-2016).  Snow enters the week with 884 rebounds in his five seasons with the Gray Wolves.

This and That: Joey Holifield, Jackie Harris, and Little Anderson have started all 24 games this season ... Holifield leads Lourdes in assists (66) and steals (38) as well as minutes played (32.3) ... Lourdes is +3.5 in turnover margin this season, averaging just 11.5 miscues per game.
