Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: The 2022-2023 home slate comes to a close for Lourdes this week with a pair of games inside the Ebeid Rec Center. The Gray Wolves will entertain Madonna on Wednesday evening before hosting Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon as Lourdes looks to remain in the hunt for a WHAC tournament berth.
Head Coach Tandy Bradford: In her second season on the Lourdes bench,
Tandy Bradford sports a 17-37 (.315) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In her fifth season overall as a collegiate head coach, Bradford has a 38-96 (.284) career mark. She is the fifth head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Madonna leads the all-time series against Lourdes 13-9 dating back to Jan. 11, 2012. The Gray Wolves have won two straight against the Crusaders though, and eight of their last nine, after defeating Madonna 72-61 in Livonia, Mich. earlier this season on Dec. 9. Lourdes is 5-0 against the Gray Wolves inside the Ebeid Rec Center. Northwestern Ohio holds a 15-8 all-time advantage against the Gray Wolves in a series that began Jan. 18, 2012. The Racers won this season's first meeting between the two schools, 88-83, on Nov. 22 in Lima, Ohio. The series is tied 3-3 in games played inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes led Concordia (Mich.) by eight heading into the final quarter on Wednesday (Feb. 1) but the Cardinals battled back to defeat the Gray Wolves 63-54 in the Ebeid Rec Center.
Shae Pedroza led Lourdes with 14 points while
Emma Pedroza added 13 more.
Macie Stringfellow also scored in double figures with 11 points. On Saturday (Feb. 4), Lourdes fell 93-78 on the road at Rochester (Mich.).

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders have dropped nine straight games after falling 69-43 at home against Northwestern Ohio last Wednesday (Feb. 1). Delani Robinson leads Madonna averaging 8.9 points per game while Ashley Hill adds 7.7 points per night. Jac'Ana Anderson is the team's top rebounder, pulling down 5.3 boards per night.
Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers enter the week having won three straight games after defeating Michigan-Dearborn 86-65 on Saturday (Feb. 4). UNOH hosts Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes. Jada Haines leads the Racers averaging 21.2 points per game while Alysia Lawson adds 13.2 points. Ana Montero Sanz is also scoring in double figures, tallying 10.2 points. Mar Marata Crespo is grabbing a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game.
Looking to Finish the Season .500 at Home: Lourdes enters the final two home games of the season with the potential to finish .500 this year inside the Ebeid Rec Center. The Gray Wolves need a pair of wins this week, entering with a 5-7 record on their home floor.
A Battle for a WHAC Tournament Berth: Lourdes enters the penultimate week of the regular season one game out of the final spot in the WHAC tournament heading into the final four games of the regular season. The Gray Wolves currently hold the tiebreaker over eighth place Aquinas though as they look to catch the Saints and force a tie in the conference ledger and qualify for the postseason.
Going the Distance: Shae Pedroza played all 40 minutes for the Gray Wolves in both games last week. The junior guard has now played the entire game in four of the Gray Wolves' last seven contests.
Getting to the Glass: Halle Barnett pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds on Saturday at Rochester (Mich.), marking the first time in her collegiate career she had a double figure rebounding effort. Barnett is averaging 4.3 boards per contest this season.
Shae Pedroza Continues to Hold the WHAC Lead: Shae Pedroza is connecting at an 88.3% clip from the free throw line on the season, the best mark in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. She has missed just seven attempts all year (53-of-60). Pedroza is tied for 10th among all NAIA players from the charity stripe this year.
Leading the Team in Scoring as a Rookie: Emma Pedroza has become a scoring machine for the Gray Wolves this season, leading Lourdes averaging 13.2 points per game as a freshman. She has six consecutive double figure scoring games and has tallied double figures 17 times in total during her rookie season.
Lourdes Tabbed Seventh in WHAC Preseason Poll: The Gray Wolves were selected to finish in seventh place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches. Lourdes was picked just behind Concordia (Mich.) and just ahead of Madonna in the balloting. Indiana Tech was tabbed as the preseason favorite.
