Box Score Lourdes began its 2023 season in triumphant fashion on Monday afternoon, defeating Brenau 19-9 at Bobby Gruhn Field in Gainesville, Ga.
 
"This was a great opening game for this team," head coach Sierra Wagoner said afterwards.  "We put a lot of work in this offseason and it showed today.  I am so proud of what this team did.  We were super successful off the draw and into our offensive end of the field."
 
Amelia McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Bloomfield Hills H.S.) scored seven times while Sarah Przyojski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford H.S.) added five goals.  Joelle Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) tallied four goals in her collegiate debut while her sister, Jordin Rawski (Toledo, Ohio/Southview H.S.) added two goals and had three assists.  Kylie Turner (Ridgeway, Ohio/Ridgemont H.S.) also found the back of the cage.
 
McCourt won 12 draw controls while also picking up nine ground balls in the game.

Lourdes (1-0) returns to the field on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Cleveland, Ga. to face Truett McConnell.  The opening draw is set for 2:30 p.m. at the TMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
