Day 1 Results
Lourdes shot an opening round 310 on Friday as the Gray Wolves opened play at the LTU Battle at the Brae held at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.
The Gray Wolves are in eighth place in a field of 12 schools, trailing Northwestern Ohio by just four shots and Spring Arbor by five heading into the final round. Host Lawrence Tech has a six shot lead over Rio Grande after carding an opening round 290.
A trio of players shot 77 for Lourdes on day.
Alban Bruyas (Grenoble, France/Lycee Philippine Duchesne),
Ryan Klausing (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida H.S.), and
Jack Murphy (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.) all carded six-over par rounds on the 6,742-yard, par-71 layout.
Isaac Simmons (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa H.S.), playing as an individual, fired an opening round 78 while
Justin Altenbach (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee H.S.) and
Hunter DeWeese (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington H.S.) each posted rounds of 79.
Bruno Vicente of Lawrence Tech holds a two-shot lead in the individual standings after carding a two-under par round of 69.
Lourdes will return to the course on Saturday morning for the final round, which begins at 9 a.m.
