GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's and women's cross country teams raced at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., Oct. 26 at Riverside Park.
Competing in the men's white 8k, the Gray Wolves finished 15th of 23 competing members, with the women placing 10th of 19 in the women's white 5k.
The event was hosted at the Riverside Park where the course record for the men's 8k is set at 24:04, while the women's 5k best time stands at 17:20.
On the women's side, sophomore
Jenna Ramsey broke the 5k school record, once more, with a finishing time of 18:32.3 for a third-place finish. Prior to her crossing the finish line, the record stood at 19:27.6 and was held by
Sheila Samoei who notched the top-spot at the Jenna Strong fall Classic in 2018. Since then,
Aliyah Perez posted a 19:34.6 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in 2021, good for second all-time before Ramsey produced a top-three record time at the Lansing Invitational, last season.
As of now, Ramsey holds the top-spot with her 18:32.3 in the 5k, as well as the top-time of 19:49.9 in the 6k record books.
On the men's side, junior
Liam LeBlanc led the team, once again, placing 34th among 227 total racers in the "white 8k", coming in at a 26:48.8 course time.
