SYLVANIA, OHIO (LourdesAthletics.com) – Lourdes University cross country standout Jenna Ramsey has made history by becoming the first athlete in the program's history to qualify for the NAIA Women's Cross Country Championship. This remarkable achievement comes after she broke the women's 6k program record at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship, finishing the race with an impressive time of 22:47.93. This performance earned her Second Team All-WHAC honors and secured her spot at the national championship.
Ramsey's qualification marks a historic moment for Lourdes, as she becomes the first runner from the university to advance to the prestigious NAIA Women's Cross Country Championship. The 2024 championship will be the first to take place in Columbia, Missouri, and features 24 automatic qualifiers, one host berth, and 11 at-large berths. Ramsey earned her spot through her exceptional performance in the WHAC Championship, where she shattered the program's previous 6k record.
She will compete in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Championship on Friday, November 22 at 11:30 a.m. CT in Columbia, Missouri. Ramsey will race against some of the nation's top runners as she represents Lourdes University on the national stage.
The 2024 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship will be streamed live on the NAIA Channel on the Urban Edge Network. The event can be viewed for free online [here].
