COLUMBIA, Mo. (LourdesAthletics.com) – Jenna Ramsey etched her name in the record books on Friday, November 22, as she became the first runner in Lourdes University history to compete at the NAIA Women's Cross Country Championship. Ramsey placed 182nd out of 327 qualifiers, completing the 6k course in 23:25.8, a solid performance in a highly competitive field.
The championship, held in Columbia, Missouri, featured the nation's top collegiate runners. The race was won with a time of 20:24.7, emphasizing the elite level of competition Ramsey faced. Despite the challenging conditions, she demonstrated the same grit and determination that propelled her to break the program's 6k record earlier this season with a 22:47.93 at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship.
Ramsey's performance at the NAIA Championship concludes a standout season for the sophomore, who not only holds the program record in both the 5k and 6k, but whose historic qualification and national-level finish set a high bar for future Gray Wolves.
With the conclusion of Ramsey's performance, the 2024 fall season has officially been capped.Â
