SYLVANIA, Ohio (LourdesAthletics.com) – Sophomore Jenna Ramsey continues to etch her name in Lourdes University history with a record-setting performance in the 5k at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, Oct. 26.
Ramsey crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 18:32.3, shattering the previous record of 19:27.6 set by Sheila Samoei during the Jenna Strong Fall Classic in 2018. This outstanding achievement not only secured her third place in the race but also established her as the fastest runner in program history for the 5k distance.
Ramsey's success did not stop there. At the Siena Heights University Meet, held at Heritage Park in Adrian, Mich., on September 27, she broke the 6k school record with a remarkable time of 23:42.7. This performance eclipsed the previous record of 24:08.5, also held by Samoei, which was set at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate on September 29, 2018.
With these impressive achievements, Ramsey now holds the top spots in both the 5k and 6k in the program's record books.
