SYLVANIA, Ohio – Lourdes University junior Kaylona Butler (Toledo, Ohio / Toledo Christian HS) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday, after delivering consecutive 32-point performances to lead the Gray Wolves to a 2–0 week.
Butler was electric in both contests, averaging 32.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.5 steals as Lourdes extended its unbeaten start to the season. She opened the week with a dominant showing at Defiance, scoring 32 points while adding five rebounds, three assists, and six steals in a decisive road victory. Butler followed with another 32-point outing against Michigan-Dearborn, attacking from all three levels and providing key baskets during a pivotal third-quarter surge.
Her scoring punch and relentless pressure on both ends of the floor helped Lourdes maintain control in each game, while her ability to generate offense in transition and the half court set the tone for the Gray Wolves throughout the week.
Butler's honor marks the latest individual recognition during Lourdes' strong start and underscores her role as one of the conference's most dynamic offensive threats.
Lourdes returns to action later this week as the Gray Wolves look to continue their momentum in WHAC play.
