KANSAS CITY, Mo. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- Lourdes University is proud to announce that 23 of its student-athletes have earned the prestigious 2024-25 Daktronics NAIA Winter Sport Scholar-Athlete honors. This recognition highlights the academic excellence of Lourdes' student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom while competing in their respective sports.
The Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is granted to student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, appear on their sport's eligibility certificate, and have been enrolled at their institution for at least one full year. Lourdes University is pleased to have such a strong representation across multiple sports, further exemplifying the institution's commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
The competitive cheer team had five student-athletes receive the honor: senior Layla Kennedy, junior Madison Hutka, junior Molly Altman, sophomore Addisen Osswald, and senior Payton Williams.
The competitive dance team was represented by senior Layla Kennedy, junior Kelli Altman, and sophomore Clara Steele.
In men's basketball, senior Kendall Perkins was recognized as a Daktronics Scholar-Athlete.
The women's basketball team had six honorees: graduate student Nadeen Jemaa, seniors Kambry Edwards, Karsyn Edwards, and Tamyah Worthy, junior Grace Ryan, and sophomore Ashley Zawisza.
The men's bowling team featured two honorees: graduate student Donald Barton and senior Dylan Erway.
The women's bowling team had one scholar-athlete: junior DeLayna Harvey.
The women's wrestling team had two honorees: sophomores Anessa Morgan and Emma Rinehart.
The men's wrestling team was represented by graduate student Derick Coleman and senior Carter Kroll.
