PREVIEW: No. 16 Women's Basketball Set for First-Ever National Tournament Appearence

The Battle for the Red Banner begins Friday, March 14th at 5 pm in Cambellsvile, Ky.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (LourdesAthletics.com) –
The Lourdes University women's basketball team continues its historic 2024-25 season as the Gray Wolves make their first-ever appearance in the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship. As the 2025 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament champions, Lourdes earned an automatic bid to the 64-team national tournament field, joining 35 automatic qualifiers and 29 at-large selections from across the country.

GAME INFORMATION
The No. 16 Gray Wolves (22-10) will travel to Campbellsville, Ky., to face the No. 1 overall seed, Campbellsville University, in the opening round on Friday, March 14, 2025. Tip-off is set for 5pm inside the Powell Athletic Center. Lourdes' first-round game will be broadcast via livestream by Campbellsville University, with details below. Fans can also follow along on social media for updates throughout the contest. The winner of this matchup will advance to the second round on March 16, with a trip to the national championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa, on the line. The championship rounds will take place at the Tyson Events Center from March 21-26, 2025.

MAKING WHAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY 
The women's basketball team capped its record-setting season in historic fashion, securing the program's first-ever WHAC Tournament championship with a 75-65 victory over No. 4 seed Cornerstone University at Mol Arena. With the win, the seventh-seeded Gray Wolves also became the first No. 7 seed in WHAC history to claim the tournament title.   

RECORD-SETTING SEASON 
The Gray Wolves have produced a record-setting 22 wins in the 2024-25 season, topping the then-record holding 12 wins that the 2023-24 team posted the previous season. Additonally, their 12 conference victories also marked a program-record, improving from their 10 wins the year before. Individually, both Emma Pedroza and Macie Stringfellow reach the 1,000 career points milestone in the same season.  

HEAD COACH TANDY BRADFORD
Head Coach Tandy Bradford, in her fourth season, has made program history with her 2024-25 squad, leading them to both the WHAC championship and the first-ever national tournament berth. With 64 percent of her career victories coming in the past two seasons, Bradford has guided Lourdes to its best-ever season, setting new records for both wins and conference victories.

SCOUTING THE GRAY WOLVES
Lourdes enters the national tournament averaging 70.6 points and 39.6 rebounds per game with a 41.8 shooting percentage. Junior Emma Pedroza leads the team with 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Macie Stringfellow, averages 14.8 points and leads the team with 7.8 rebounds and 24 blocks. Tamyah Worthy provides the Gray Wolves with intense defense, averaging  5.6 rebounds and leading with 68 steals.

SCOUTING CAMPBELLSVILLE
The top-seeded Campbellsville University Tigers (30-2) enter the tournament after a strong season in the Mid-South Conference, winning the regular-season title and earning runners-up in the championship game. The Tigers are averaging 75.4 points per game with a 45.4 shooting percentage. They are led by Lauren Lee, who averages 17.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
