GRAND RAPIDS. Mich (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's basketball team continues it's record-setting season as the 2024-25 squad prepares for the program's first-ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship game appearance. The seventh-seeded Gray Wolves will travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Monday, March 3, 2025 to face the fourth-seeded Golden Eagles of Cornerstone University in a 6 pm tip-off finals game.

Monday's game, scheduled for 6 pm, will be broadcast live on the Cornerstone Sports Network (CSPN). Fans can also follow the action via live stats at cugoldeneagles.com/livestats or follow along on all social media platforms for score updates throughout the contest.
MAKING WHAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
With the 79-74 semifinals road victory over UNOH, the Gray Wolves not only made Lourdes program history as the first team to make it to the championship, but also etched their names into the WHAC record books by qualifying as the first #7 seed in the finals.
GRAY WOLVES IN THE WHAC TOURNEY
Monday's game will mark the first-ever WHAC Tournament championship appearance for the Gray Wolves. The team made its way through a play-in game against No. 10 Madonna, a quarterfinals upset at No. 2 Aquinas, and a road semifinals win over No. 6 UNOH.
Prior to this season, Lourdes made it as far as the quarterfinals in the WHAC Tournament, holding a 1-4 record. Following the three-game tournament win-streak, the team now holds an even 4-4 record when playing in the WHAC Tournament in program history.
RECORD-SETTING SEASON
The Gray Wolves have produced a record-setting 21 wins in the 2024-25 season, topping the then-record holding 12 wins that the 2023-24 team posted the previous season. Additonally, their 12 conference victories also mark a program-record, improving from their 10 wins the year before.
HEAD COACH TANDY BRADFORD
Head Coach Tandy Bradford, in just her fourth season at Lourdes, has made program history with her 2024-25 squad. Hired as the fifth coach of the women's basketball program in 2021, Bradford has produced a 55-66 record at Lourdes, with 64 percent of her wins coming in the last two seasons. Her overall conference record sits at 31-51 with this season marking as her third consecutive season making an appearance in the postseason.
SCOUTING THE GRAY WOLVES
Lourdes enters the matchup averaging 70.5 points with 39.3 rebounds per game with a 42.0 shooting percentage. Leading the team is junior Emma Pedroza, who averages 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, with 118 assists. Macie Stringfellow, who sits just two points away from reaching the 1,000 career points mark as a Gray Wolf, leads with 7.6 boards per game and 23 blocks, with 14.5 points per game and 65 steals.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Cornerstone holds a 17-13 overall record with a 14-6 mark in WHAC play. Making their way to through the tournament bracket, the Golden Eagles are averaging 70.2 points and 37.8 rebounds per game. Leading the team is Jaxi Long with 17.3 points and 4.6 rebound sper game, posting 84 total assists. On the defensive end, Mackenzie Goodwin, who leads the team with 38 blocks, averages 10.8 points and 4.5 boards per game.
UP NEXT
The winner of Monday night's game will be crowned WHAC Tournament Champions and earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship. The 44th Annual Women's Basketball National Championship will take place from March 20-25, 2025, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The First and Second Rounds will be held on March 14-15, 2025, at campus sites.
