Competitive Cheer Concludes Season at NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship

Gray Wolves finish 15th in first national appearance since 2020

YPSILANTI, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University competitive cheer team wrapped up its 2025 season on the national stage, finishing 15th at the NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. The Gray Wolves posted a final score of 78.43, marking their return to the national tournament for the first time since 2020.

Defending champion St. Ambrose (Iowa) claimed its third consecutive NAIA title with a dominant 97.95, edging out Xavier (La.) (97.39) and Dickinson State (96.38) in a tightly contested battle at the top. Saint Mary (Kan.) and Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top five.

Lourdes entered the national championship as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament champions, earning an automatic berth to the national event. The Gray Wolves faced a highly competitive field of 15 teams, many of which were returning qualifiers from last season.

The NAIA championship appearance capped a successful season for Lourdes, highlighted by its first WHAC title since 2018 and the program's fifth season as a national contender.
