Lourdes University senior forward Jannik Hofmann (Bremen, Germany) has been selected as the NAIA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Hofmann earns the honor for the first time in his career after a standout opening stretch that powered the Gray Wolves to back-to-back victories.

Hofmann scored four goals in two matches last week, including a pair of game-winners. He tallied two goals and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Huntington University on Wednesday before striking twice more in Lourdes' 2-1 win over Indiana Northwest on Saturday. His decisive goal against IUNW came in the 80th minute, sealing the Gray Wolves' second straight home victory.

Through three matches this season, Hofmann has five goals and one assist, finding the back of the net in every game. He currently leads the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) in scoring and ranks among the top scorers nationally.

"Jannik has been in terrific form to start the season," head coach Matt Johnson said. "His movement in the box is very good and he has a great knack for finding and finishing chances. He has battled injuries the past few years, but his quality and understanding of the game has always been there."

Hofmann becomes the first player in program history to be recognized as the NAIA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Lourdes (2-1) returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 3, hosting Indiana University East at 6 p.m. inside Wildcat Stadium.
