On Saturday afternoon the Lourdes University baseball team was looking to shake off the rust of their first games on Friday and try to take two games from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY. The Gray Wolves would come up short in their bid for their first victory of the season. The Gray Wolves were defeated in Game 1 18-3 and Game 2 12-0.
Game one saw the Tigers of Georgetown soar out of the gate with 10 runs scored in the first inning putting the Gray Wolves in a hole. Georgetown would tack on four more runs in the second inning and three in the fourth. The Gray Wolves would get on the board in the third inning with three runs on small ball. Phillip Dysard, Tyler Trame and Austin Gunn would all come around to the plate in the inning. The Gray Wolves would just not be able to get much after that as they scored three runs on just three hits for the game.
Pitching would be a bit painful for the Gray Wolves as they would use five different pitchers in the game and Freshman Lee Lovejoy getting his first start would only last 2/3 of an inning giving up 10 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks.

Game two would not be much better for the Gray Wolves as they would suffer at the plate managing only two hits in the 12-0 loss. Tyler Trame and Marty Hall would be the only ones able to get a hit for Lourdes. The Tigers would score 1 in the 1
st, 2 in the 2
nd, 2 in the 4
th and 7 runs in the 5
th inning.
Freshman Daniel Broadbeck would take the loss going 4.1 inning pitched giving up 5 hits and 9 earned runs.

The Gray Wolves fell to 0-4 overall with the two losses.
The Gray Wolves will take the upcoming week off and be back in action at the Russ Matt Invitational in Lakeland, FL on March 4
th against St. Xavier and Point Park (PA).
