The Lourdes University Gray Wolves baseball team was on the road Saturday afternoon in Goshen, IN taking on the Maple Leafs of Goshen College in double header action. The Gray Wolves split the series winning game 1 15-5 before falling in game 2 12-1.
The Gray Wolves came out swinging in game 1 pounding out 18 hits and amassing 15 runs in the 7 inning game. The Gray Wolves were in complete control from the beginning with 8 runs scored in the 1
st inning and had strong pitching from Drew Lepiarz. Drew would go 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 4. Garrett Jex led the way for the Gray Woloves going 5 for 5 including 4 rbi and 2 runs scored in the game.
Game 2 would go the opposite way for Lourdes as the Maple Leafs won handily 12-1. The Gray Wolves finished the game with 1 run in the 3
rd inning on five hits. Lourdes Daniel Broadbeck would be ruffed up on the mound surrendering 8 runs on 9 hits in 2.1 innings. Tyler Trame would finish with 2 hits to lead the Gray Wolves.
Lourdes moves to 5-13 overall.
