The Lourdes University Gray Wolves baseball team was on the road on Wednesday afternoon in Defiance, OH taking on the Yellow Jackets of Defiance College. The Gray Wolves would fall to the Yellow Jackets 7-2.

The Gray Wolves scratched out a run in the sixth and eighth inning of the game. The Yellow Jackets scored three runs in the second inning to jump out early and never look back behind a strong pitching effort by Ryan McLaughlin who went 5 innings and gave up only three hits.

The Gray Wolves used five different pitchers in the game. Daniel Broadbeck was stuck with the loss going just two innings and giving up three runs and two of them earned. Broadbeck also hit three batters in the game.

The loss moves the Gray Wolves to 5-16 overall. Next up for Lourdes is Davenport University this Saturday and Sunday in double header action at Mercy Field starting at 1pm both days.
