The Lourdes Gray Wolves fell 3-2 in the 10 innings today against Bluefield College in Auburndale, FL.  Lourdes starter Frank Shaffer pithed very well for the Gray Wolves going 8 1/3 innings giving up two runs (one earned) 3 hits and struck out 3.  Bluefield scored a run in the 1st before Shaffer was able to induce a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.  Shaffer would cruise until the 9th as he kept the Bluefield hitter off balance all game.  Bluefield would make it 2-0 after two Lourdes errors.  This would set up a dramatic come back for the Lourdes offense in the top of the 9th inning.  Patrick Magat led off the inning with a double to left-center field.  Jake Conklin followed with a single to put runners at 1st and 3rd and no outs.  Pinch hitter Nick Mazgay plated Magat with a RBI ground out to short.  Brad Gennari scored Conklin with a single to right to tie the game at two.  In the bottom of the 9th Bluefield put runners at the corners with one out, causing Lourdes to go to their bullpen and bring in right-hander Adam Little.  Little was able to get pinch hitter Joey Andrew to hit a ground ball to second basemen Conklin who turner a tremendous double to end the threat and send the game to extra innings.  In the top of the 10th Lourdes loaded the bases with one out after singles by Andy Kefalos and Magat and a one out walk to Conklin.   Brandon D'Agnese stepped to the plate and hit the ball on a line but unfortunately Bluefield short stop was able to leap and catch the ball and flip it to second for a double to end the inning.  Bluefield was able to get the lead runner on in the 10th after Little hit the lead-off batter Zac Russel-Myers.  He then stole second and was bunted over to third.  The game would end after Trevor Martin single passed the drawn in infield giving the Ram the 3-2 victory.  The loss drops the Gray Wolves to 1-10 overall and 1-6 on their trip.  They will be back on the field on Friday as they take on Calumet St. Joseph in a double-header starting at 11am in Lakeland, FL.

The Gray Wolves lost two games in their double-header with Hannibal La-Grange University Tuesday afternoon in Winter Haven, FL.  Lourdes fell 8-0 and 7-4.  They now fall to 1-5 on their spring trip and 1-9 overall on the season.
In game one the Trojans would jump out to an early lead as they scored 3 runs on two hits and a walk.  The big hit in the inning was a triple by second basemen Clint Hamilton.  Gray Wolves starter Kyle Vandecaveye would settle down and pitch scoreless 3rd, 4th and 5th innings.  Vandecaveye would find himself in trouble again in the 6th after an error and a single Trojan catcher Ian Sikes would put the game away with a 3 run homerun over the left field fence.  Lourdes reliever Chris Cody came in the game to get out of the inning and pitched a perfect 7th inning for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes would only scratch out 4 hits.  Phil Dysard had a pair of singles and a stolen base to lead the offense.
The first inning would once again go badly for Lourdes as starter Jim Dunnett surrendered a grand-slam to be the Gray Wolves in an early hole.  Lourdes would battle and scratch across a single run in the 1st as Dysard scored on an RBI single by Andy Kefalos.  Dunnett settled in to keep the game close putting up scoreless innings in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings.  Lourdes cut the lead in half at 4-2 in the 4th when Lourdes catcher Patrick Magat scored on a Nick Mazgay sacrifice fly out to left field.  Hannibal La-Grange added 3 more runs in the 5th after two walks and two costly errors.  The Gray Wolves would not go down without a fight as they plated two run in the top of the 7th for the final score of 7-4.   Magat had a two run single in the 7th and Dysard added a double and a run scored to pace the Lourdes offense.
