Sylvania, OH- On a crisp, cool Thursday afternoon at Mercy Field the Lourdes University Gray Wolves hosted the Saints of Siena Heights University in doubleheader baseball action. The Saints grabbed both games of the double header, 10-1 and 2-0.
 
Game one was all Saints as they defeated Lourdes 10-1 in the nine inning affair. Siena Heights finished with 10 runs on 17 hits and committed just 1 error. Corey Alexander picked up his fifth victory of the season going 8 innings surrendering 1 run on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 6.
 
The Gray Wolves Drew Lepiarz took the loss going 4 innings giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3.
 
Siena Heights scored in 6 of the 9 innings including 2 runs in the first inning and never looking back. Lourdes got their only run of the game in the 4^th inning when Phil Dysard scored on a Joe Esposito rbi.
 
With the loss the Gray Wolves dropped to 6-26 overall and 1-10 in WHAC play.
 
The second game of the double header was a lot closer as the Gray Wolves dropped the game 2-0. Lee Lovejoy took the loss for Lourdes but pitched 6 solid innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits with 4 walks. Brett Kuebler of SHU got the victory going seven innings of shut out ball, giving up just 4 hits and 1 walk.
 
The game would stay scoreless until bottom of the 5^th inning when Siena Heights plated 2 runs in, Josh White and Marcus Stewart. Each came around to score on a Kyle Benchoter single that would result in the only runs of the game.
 
Lourdes University would finish with only 4 hits in the ballgame with no one getting multi hits. Austin Gunn, Phillip Dysard, Andy Kefalos and Jake Conklin were the only hitters of the game.
 
Lourdes drops to 6-27 overall, 1-11 in the WHAC.
 
Lourdes returns to action on Saturday, April 7 at 1 p.m. at Mercy Field against Siena Heights University Saints.
