After waiting out a snow delay of more than an hour and a half, Lourdes dropped a 14-5 game to Concordia (Mich.) before having game two called as a tie, 3-3 after seven innings due to darkness on Sunday at Cardinal Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Concordia scored first in the opening inning of game one, but the Gray Wolves tied the game in the top of the fifth. Two bunt singles and a walk loaded the bases and
John Crooks (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills H.S.) tied the game with a sacrifice fly which scored
Marty Ramirez (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.).
The Cardinals retook the lead in the fifth before Lourdes scored four times in the sixth to take a 5-2 lead.
Garrett Jex (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green H.S.) and Ramirez had back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners.
Mike Calloway (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech H.S.) singled to tie the game at two and Crooks followed with a base hit putting the Gray Wolves on top.
Phill Dysard (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) added a two-run double to increase the lead to three.
A seven-run, seven-hit sixth inning put Concordia on top for good though and they increased the lead to 12-5 with three more runs in the seventh. The Cardinals added the final two runs in the eighth to earn their lone victory of the series.
Dysard and Jex each had three hits for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes pounded out 15 hits in the opener. Every starter had at least one hit. Jeremy Robinson went 4-for-5 to pace Concordia's 17-hit attack.

Concordia (5-26-1, 4-16-1 WHAC) answered with an unearned run in the third and two more runs in the fourth to take a 3-2 advantage. Lourdes tied the game in the seventh as
Victor Diaz (Medina, Ohio/Cloverleaf H.S.) delivered a pinch hit single with two outs to score Gunn with the tying run.
The game was called after the seventh on account of darkness.
