Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The midway point of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play has arrived for Lourdes University and the Gray Wolves have two key league tilts this week.  Lourdes travels to Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday afternoon before entertaining Indiana Tech on Saturday, facing a pair of schools behind the Gray Wolves in the conference ledger.

Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Barry Spitzer has a 4-4 (.455) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: As has been a common theme for the Gray Wolves this season, Lourdes will be meeting Concordia (Mich.) and Indiana Tech on the soccer pitch for the first time.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals are still looking for their first victory in 2015 after falling 4-0 at Madonna on Friday afternoon.  Concordia has scored just four goals on the season with Mohamad Al Bawardi, Jacob Bailey, Nathan Harris, and Ulisse Nikolai finding the back of the net.  Roberth Ramirez has the only two assists for the Cardinals this year.  Jonathan Detwiler has played the majority of the minutes in goal, sporting a 4.33 goals against average and a .639 save percentage.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors are winless in their last six matches following a 3-2 setback to second-ranked Davenport at home on Saturday.  Indiana Tech hosts Marygrove on Wednesday before heading to Lourdes.  Brennan Cochran leads Marygrove in scoring with 10 goals and 20 points while Zachary St. Aubin has added four goals and nine points.  In goal, Logan Kelly has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 2.25 goals against average and a .693 save percentage.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Hosting a nationally-ranked foe for the first time in program history, Lourdes came up on the short end of a 4-1 decision to second-ranked Davenport on Wednesday.  Jake Kirchoff-Sleet scored the lone Gray Wolf goal, tallying a penalty kick with just over 10 minutes remaining in the match.  Jose Cedillo made nine saves in the setback.  Adilson Darosa scored 1:11 into the second half to cut Lourdes' halftime deficit in half, but the Gray Wolves ultimately fell 3-1 on the road at Marygrove on Saturday afternoon.  Mark Darling made seven saves for Lourdes in the loss.

Converting Penalties: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet has converted both penalty kick opportunities for the Gray Wolves this season.  The junior for England now has five goals on the season, tied for the team lead, while also tallying a pair of assists to give him a team-high 12 points.

Darosa Evens the Scoring Race: When Jake Kirchoff-Sleet tallied his team-leading fifth goal of the season against Davenport, Adilson Darosa made sure he did not hold the team lead for long.  Darosa scored his fifth goal of the year one match later against Marygrove to pull even in the goal-scoring race.

Handing Out Help: Aaron Davis has tallied at least one point in three of his last four matches.  The rookie had an assist on Saturday at Marygrove to give him the team lead with three helpers this season.

Playoff Race: After this week, there will be just four matches remaining in the regular season for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes currently sits in eighth place in the league standings, with the top eight schools qualifying for the postseason tournament.  Lourdes is just two points out of fifth place, but also just one point ahead of ninth, meaning this week's six potential points could help decide the team's fate.

Mixing Up the Lineups: Midway through the inaugural season, Lourdes has started a variety of combinations.  A total of 16 different players have found their way into the starting 11, with just four players having been given the starting nod in all nine contests.  A total of 21 different players have found their way onto the pitch this year.

Goalies Sharing Time: Mark Darling and Jose Cedillo have both seen action in five matches this season for the Gray Wolves, with Darling having played just six minutes and two seconds more than Cedillo on the season.  Cedillo has posted a 1.33 goals against average and an .818 save percentage while Darling has tallied a 2.41 GAA and a .621 save percentage.

Surrendering Corner Opportunities: Lourdes has conceded 56 corner kick opportunities to the opposition this season, and average of 6.2 per contest.  The Gray Wolves have earned just 34 corner kick chances, or 3.8 per night.

Among the NAIA Leaders: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet ranks 11th among all NAIA schools averaging 4.67 shots per match.  Adilson Darosa's three match-winning goals are 26th most in the country.

Captains: Adam Gonia and Jake Kirchoff-Sleet have been named team captains for the inaugural 2015 season.

This and That: Lourdes has been booked for just six yellow cards this season, with no player having received more than two ... nine different players have at least one point on the year ... the Gray Wolves will alternate road and home matches for the remainder of the regular season.
