Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes continues its 10-game stretch of games against Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foes with six league contests this week.  The Gray Wolves will host Indiana Tech on Wednesday in a twinbill at Mercy Field before heading to Grand Rapids, Mich. over the weekend for a four-game series with sixth-ranked Davenport.

Head Coach Andy Ham: In his fourth season on the Lourdes bench, Andy Ham has a 43-111-1 (.281) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his sixth season overall as a head baseball coach, Ham has a 68-158-1 (.302) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Probable Starters: Drew Lepiarz (LHP, 2-1, 2.12) and A.J. Schraffenberger (LHP, 0-0, 2.00) will toe the rubber on Wednesday against Indiana Tech.  On Saturday, Frank Shaffer (RHP, 0-3, 11.93) and Matt Olsavsky (0-0, 2.53) are scheduled to make the starts to open the Davenport series.  Nate Snow (RHP, 0-2, 9.35) is slated to start one of the two games on Sunday while the other game's starter has yet to be determined.

Series Notes: Indiana Tech is 12-0 all-time against Lourdes in a series that dates back to April 27, 2012.  The Warriors are 8-0 against the Gray Wolves at Mercy Field.  Last season, Indiana Tech won both games at Mercy Field by scores of 7-0 and 5-2 in March before posting 10-6 and 8-7 (10 innings) triumphs in Fort Wayne in April.  Davenport is also 12-0 all-time against the Gray Wolves dating back to March 24, 2012.  The Panthers are 8-0 against Lourdes in Grand Rapids, Mich., posting four wins last year by scores of 17-8, 17-0, 9-6, and 1-0.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes surrendered 10 fifth inning runs in game one and eight first inning runs in game two on Tuesday, dropping two games at Taylor by scores of 12-2 and 11-4.  Lourdes rebounded on Wednesday to score a 4-3 win over Hillsdale, taking advantage of five Charger errors.  Friday, Siena Heights earned a 4-1 in the opener before Drew Lepiarz tossed a three-hit shutout in game two as Lourdes earned a split with a 4-0 win.  The Saints shutout Lourdes on Sunday in the opener 7-0 before winning 12-3 in the night cap.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors have won five of their last seven games, but dropped a 4-2 decision at NCAA Division I Butler on Sunday.  Brian Hakes leads the team batting .370 while Romer Portes has two home runs and 17 runs batted in while swinging at a .313 clip.  Indiana Tech's pitching staff sports a 5.83 ERA and opponents are hitting .316 against them.

Scouting Davenport: The Panthers have won 11 straight games during the month of March after sweeping a four-game series at home against Concordia (Mich.) last weekend.  Davenport hosts Cornerstone for a pair of games on Tuesday before entertaining Lourdes this weekend.  Matt Priebe leads the Panthers batting .493 with three homers and 23 runs batted in on the season while Brendan Bender is hitting .425 with four home runs and 22 runs batted in.  As a team Davenport is batting .365 while the pitching staff sports a 2.37 ERA and opponents are hitting .365 against them.

Scheduling Changes: Due to snow in Fort Wayne on Monday, Wednesday's games which were slated for Indiana Tech have been moved to Mercy Field.  As a result, Lourdes will now travel to Fort Wayne on April 15 for a doubleheader against the Warriors instead of playing them at Mercy Field.  In addition, Lourdes has added a single game at Hillsdale for the schedule on April 29.

Lepiarz Earns Pitcher of the Week Honors: Drew Lepiarz was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after tossing a complete game three-hitter at Siena Heights on Friday.  The southpaw struck out a career-high nine batters while walking just one in the 4-0 win.

More Ranked Opponents: Lourdes is 1-14 all-time against top-25 teams after dropping four games earlier this year at #4 Missouri Baptist.  The Gray Wolves lone win came on March 4, 2012 against 24th-ranked Saint Xavier 10-6.  Lourdes will have four more opportunities to knock off a ranked opponent this weekend as they travel to sixth-ranked Davenport.

Streaking: Nick Toth enters the week with an eight-game hitting streak.  Beginning with the second game of the March 15 twinbill against Cleary, Toth is batting .500 (14-for-28) with a .543 slugging percentage. He has four doubles and has driven in five runs during the span while posting a .643 slugging percentage.

More Streaks: Andy Kefalos enters the week having reached base safely in 11 straight games.  On the season Kefalos sports a .365 on base percentage while batting .283.  Marty Ramirez had an 11-game hitting streak earlier this season, a string that ended in game two of the twinbill at Siena Heights on Sunday.

Best League Start Ever: For the first time in program history, Lourdes earned a win in its WHAC-opening series.  The win, which came in the second league game of the year, bettered the team's starts in 2012 (0-5), 2013 (0-5), and 2014 (0-4).

This and That: Sean Koerber earned his first collegiate save last week in the win over Hillsdale ... Zack Zsolcsak registered his first collegiate win in the same game against the Chargers, doing so out of the bullpen ... Bill Laranga has been hit by a pitch nine times already this season in 46 plate appearances ... all five of the Gray Wolf wins this year have come when the team has committed one error in the game or fewer.
