Box Score Lourdes wrapped up its weekend series against sixth-ranked Davenport on Sunday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves fell 16-3 to the Panthers at Farmers Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids, Mich. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to inclement weather conditions.

Davenport scored in each of the first five innings, including four runs in each of the first two frames. After adding a pair of runs in both the third and fourth innings, the Panthers tacked on their final four runs in the fifth. Jordan Zylstra went 3-for-4 with two triples and five runs batted in to pace Davenport's 17-hit attack.

Lourdes finally broke through on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with three runs.Â
Tyler Trame (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) singled home
Matt York (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) with the team's first run.Â
Kyle Sherman (Collierville, Tenn./Rossville Christian Academy) added a two-run double which plated
Cory Fallwell (Tucson, Ariz./Palo Verde H.S.) as well as Trame.

Corey Murphy earned the win (4-1) for Davenport (25-2, 11-0 WHAC) with five shutout innings, limiting Lourdes to just three hits. He struck out eight without walking a batter.Â
Zack Zsolcsak (Brownstown, Mich./Woodhaven H.S.) suffered the loss (1-1), surrendering eight runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings of work.

Lourdes (5-16, 1-8) will return to the diamond on Wednesday as the Gray Wolves travel to Lima, Ohio to face Northwestern Ohio. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. at Racer Field. Lourdes had been scheduled to host Grace on Tuesday, but those games have been postponed as the Lancers have to make up conference games on that day.
