Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
Patrick Yannarelli has a 14-8 (.636) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 1-0 all-time against Oakland after downing the Golden Grizzlies 14-6 on March 7, 2014 in the program's inaugural game played at Detroit Country Day School. The Gray Wolves are also 1-0 all-time against Aquinas, having downed the Saints 18-10 on March 29, 2014 at the Aquinas Athletic Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes led seventh-ranked Dayton 11-10 heading into the final quarter on Saturday afternoon but the Flyers responded with eight unanswered goals on the way to an 18-13 victory at Central Catholic High School.Â
Dalton Vowles led Lourdes with four goals and an assist while
Jared Yoshino also had a five-point game with two goals and three assists.
Scouting Oakland: The Golden Grizzlies have dropped back-to-back games following a narrow 8-7 setback at Aquinas on Saturday evening. Hunter Spielman leads Oakland with 26 goals this season while Zachary Compeau has tallied 25 goals and a team-high 13 assists for 38 total points. Nicholas Demattia has collected 105 ground balls. In goal, Marek Nagy has logged a majority of the team's minutes, sporting an 8.20 goals against average and a .518 save percentage.
Scouting Aquinas: The Saints enter the week having dropped three of their last four games following a 10-9 setback at home against Michigan-Dearborn on Sunday afternoon. Aquinas hosts Siena Heights on Wednesday before facing Lourdes. Grant Holloway leads the Saints having scored 24 goals this year while Jake Auyer has a team-leading 17 assists as part of a 24-point effort on the season. In goal, Jimmy Watt sports a 7.31 goals against average and a .599 save percentage having played a majority of the minutes in goal.

The Scoring Race: Dalton Vowles pulled within one goal of the team lead this season after scoring four times against Dayton. Vowles has 22 goals on the season, one behind
Danny Bichsel, the school's all-time scoring leader. Bichsel's 23 goals this season give him 78 over his two-year career with the Gray Wolves.
Kings of Ground Balls: Dylan Gill and
Jared Yoshino have led Lourdes in ground balls over the past two seasons. Gill has 157 ground balls for his career, tallying 36 this season, second most on the squad. Yoshino leads the team this year with 51, giving him 105 ground balls over his two-year career.
This and That: Lourdes only eight losses in program history have come to top-25 programs, including all five this year ... 26 different players have seen action this season ... with a win over Oakland, Lourdes would finish the season no worse than second place in the CCLA Central Division.
