Match #5: Saturday, September 26, 3 p.m. EDT
at #9 Northwestern Ohio (4-2, 0-0 WHAC)
Racers Stadium - Lima, Ohio

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: After a two week break, Lourdes returns to the pitch on Saturday afternoon to open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play as the Gray Wolves battle Northwestern Ohio, a NAIA semifinalist one season ago.

Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Barry Spitzer has a 2-2 (.500) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: As will be a common theme for the Gray Wolves this season, Lourdes will be meeting Northwestern Ohio on the soccer pitch for the first time.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers enter the match having won back-to-back contests after defeating #10 Indiana Wesleyan on the road last Saturday evening.  Sergio Royo leads Northwestern Ohio with 13 points on the season already after tallying six goals and an assist.  Sean Latimer has added three goals and two helpers for eight points.  In goal, Liam Davies has played every minute for the Racers, sporting a 1.50 goals against average and a .757 save percentage.

Wrapping Up Last Week (Or Two Weeks Ago): Lourdes surrendered a goal in the 65th minute at Cincinnati Christian on Sept. 9 in suffering a 1-0 decision on the road to the Eagles.  Mark Darling made five saves for the Gray Wolves in the loss.  Lourdes rebounded on Sept. 12 with a 3-1 victory over Cleary at home.  Judah Goodridge started the scoring for the Gray Wolves less than two minutes into the match and Adilson Darosa added a pair of tallies in the second half, including the match-winner.  Jose Cedillo earned the victory between the posts, recording four stops.

Multi-Goal Efforts: After Jake Kirchoff-Sleet scored a pair of goals against Walsh, Adilson Darosa decided to follow suit one week later at home.  Darosa found the back of the net twice in a 14-minute span to pull him even in the team's scoring race with Kirchoff-Sleet with seven points.  Both players have two goals and an assist.

Mixing Up the Lineups: Just four matches into the inaugural season, Lourdes has started a variety of combinations.  A total of 15 different players have found their way into the starting 11, with just six player having been given the starting nod in all four contests.

Scoring Quick: Lourdes needed just 1:24 to find the back of the net in the home opener against Walsh, as Jake Kirchoff-Sleet christened Wildcat Stadium.  Judah Goodridge nearly matched that mark in the second home contest against Cleary, scoring 1:52 into the match.

Controlling the Opening Stanza: Lourdes has outshot its opponents 43-16 in the first half through the first four matches in program history.  The Gray Wolves have a 17-11 edge on goal in the first 45 minutes, but have just outscored the opposition 5-3 during that time frame.

Cedillo Wins Debut in Goal: Jose Cedillo made his first Lourdes appearance in goal against Cleary, allowing just one goal while making four saves to earn the victory.  The lone goal he surrendered came in the 47th minute on a cross to the far left post, tying the match at one.

Lots of Shots: Lourdes ranks 21st as a team in shots per match, averaging 19.5 per night.  Individually, Jake Kirchoff-Sleet is sixth in the nation attempting 5.5 shots per contest.

Captains: Adam Gonia and Jake Kirchoff-Sleet have been named team captains for the inaugural 2015 season.

This and That: Brett Chasnick and Jose Cedillo both made their Lourdes debuts the last time out ... Judah Goodridge leads the team with two assists ... the Gray Wolves have been booked for just one yellow card through the first four matches of the year ... Northwestern Ohio is the first ranked program Lourdes men's soccer has ever faced.
