Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: A busy finish to the end of the 2016 regular season is in store for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves will play five matches in 11 days, beginning on Wednesday when they host Cornerstone.  Lourdes will take to the road on Saturday for a match at Lawrence Tech before heading to Indiana Tech on Monday for a make-up of an Oct. 1 postponement.

Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his second season on the Lourdes bench, Barry Spitzer has an 13-11-3 (.537) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 1-0 all-time against Cornerstone, having defeated the Golden Eagles 2-0 on Oct. 28, 2015 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Carlos Viganoni scored in the 13th minute and Jake Kirchoff-Sleet added an insurance goal with less than 10 minutes to play in the win.  Lourdes holds a 1-0 series edge against Lawrence Tech, having defeated the Blue Devils 1-0 at Wildcat Stadium on Oct. 3, 2015.  Aaron Davis scored the lone goal of the match with just 4:47 remaining.  Lourdes is 1-0 all-time against Indiana Tech, having defeated the Warriors 3-2 on Oct. 17, 2015 at Wildcat Stadium.  Davis scored twice and Kirchoff-Sleet notched the match-winner with under 14 minutes to play.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet scored just 7:43 into the contest on Wednesday and an own goal added insurance for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes defeated Siena Heights 2-0 at home.  Jose Cedillo made four saves for the shutout in goal.  On Saturday, sixth-ranked Northwestern Ohio led just 1-0 at halftime, but four goals in 22 minutes during the second half pushed the Racers to a 5-0 victory at Wildcat Stadium.  Cedillo made four stops for the Gray Wolves between the posts.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles are unbeaten in their last five matches (3-0-2) after scoring a 1-0 victory over Siena Heights on Saturday.  Kevin Doornbos leads Cornerstone in scoring with six goals and 13 total points while Regan Billings has added nine points, including four goals.  Kevin Nimmo is the team's assist leader with four, and has eight points on the year.  In goal, four different netminders have seen action in 2016.  Dary DeWalt has played a majority of the minutes, and carries a 0.59 goals against average and an .875 save percentage.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have won two straight contests after defeating Siena Heights 1-0 on the road on Monday in a make-up contest.  Lawrence Tech hosts Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday before entertaining Lourdes.  Nico Rbp leads the Blue Devils in scoring, having tallied eight goals and six assists for 22 total points.  In goal, Craig Martin and Max Jewett have split a majority of the time, with Martin carrying a 1.12 GAA and a .759 save percentage while Jewett has a 1.61 GAA and a .756 save mark.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week following a 2-2 draw with Saint Francis (Ind.) on Sunday in non-conference action and battle Siena Heights and Aquinas before facing Lourdes.  Roman Schindler leads Indiana Tech with eight goals and 19 points this season while Andrew Higgins has handed out 12 assists.  Adam Viviano sports a 1.64 goals against average and a .574 save percentage between the posts.

Longest Homestand in Program History: Lourdes wraps up a four-match homestand on Wednesday, one which began on Oct. 8.  The Gray Wolves had never even had back-to-back home contests prior to this current homestand and are currently 1-2 during this stretch.

Cedillo Notches Season's First Shutout: Jose Cedillo recorded his first clean sheet of the season on Wednesday against Siena Heights, and now has five over the last two seasons with the Gray Wolves, most in program history.

First Half Dominance: Lourdes has outscored its opponents 31-5 over the opening 45 minutes this season while outshooting foes 134-52 in the first half.  The Gray Wolves have trailed just twice at intermission in 2016, and are 5-1 when leading at the break.

Kirchoff-Sleet Adds to Record-Setting Goal Total: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet tallied another goal against Siena Heights last week to increase his scoring total to a school single-season record 13 this year.  The senior has tallied goals in eight of his 11 matches this year.  He has recorded a point in every match except at Aquinas and against Northwestern Ohio.

Among the NAIA Leaders: Lourdes ranks among the top of the NAIA as a team in numerous statistical categories.  The Gray Wolves lead the country in assists per match (3.45) and goals per match (5.18) while ranking second with 57 total goals.  The Gray Wolves' 24.18 shots per match and 12.73 shots on goal per contest are third most in the NAIA while the 38 total assists rank eighth.

Team Captain: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet is the Gray Wolves' lone captain for the 2016 season.  The Lourdes senior is serving in the role for the second consecutive season.

This and That: The 57 goals the Gray Wolves have scored are 33 more than the they tallied the entire 2015 season ... a total of 18 different players have found the back of the net, with 20 total players registering at least one point on the year via assists ... the own goal registered in the Siena Heights match was the first in program history.
