Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes wraps up the 2016 calendar year over the next week, playing three games in seven days, beginning on Wednesday with a trip to Cincinnati Christian.  The Gray Wolves return home on Saturday to battle nationally-ranked Davenport before stepping out of league play for the final time this season on Tuesday, hosting Carlow.

Head Coach Summer Quesenberry: In her first season on the Lourdes bench Summer Quesenberry has a 4-9 (.308) record.  Overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Quesenberry has a 57-77 (.425) record in her fifth season.  She is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Cincinnati Christian have split four previous meetings 2-2 dating back to Nov. 3, 2014.  Last season the Gray Wolves scored a 72-55 triumph at Tam-o-Shanter before the Eagles rebounded for a 71-47 win in the Queen City.  The Gray Wolves and Eagles are 1-1 against each other all-time in Cincinnati.  Davenport holds a 10-0 series advantage over Lourdes dating back to Jan. 4, 2012.  The Panthers swept last year's meetings, winning 87-54 in Grand Rapids, Mich. before posting a 66-40 victory at Tam-o-Shanter.  Davenport went 5-0 against Lourdes in games played at Tam-o-Shanter.  Carlow holds a 1-0 series lead against Lourdes.  The Celtics posted a 53-47 victory over Lourdes on Nov. 6, 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pa. in the only previous meeting between the two schools.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to take a fourth quarter lead on Wednesday, only to have Cornerstone answer, force overtime, and ultimately defeat the Gray Wolves 81-75.  Elayna Ackerman led Lourdes with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Molea Thompson added 15 points.  Jesse Fidler also tallied double figures with 13 points on the evening.  On Saturday afternoon, #21 Indiana Tech jumped out to a 22-2 lead after the opening period on the way to a 90-61 victory.  Fidler scored 13 points and Thompson added 11 more to pace the Gray Wolves.

Scouting Cincinnati Christian: The Eagles have dropped three straight games after suffering a 70-57 setback at home against Midway on Monday and are closing a six-game homestand with Lourdes.  Baylee Wallace leads Cincinnati Christian averaging 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.  Aly Balser adds 11.0 points per night for the Eagles, which are shooting 39.9% as a team.

Scouting Davenport: The Panthers enter the week having won seven straight games following a 90-58 triumph on the road at Northwestern Ohio on Saturday.  Davenport hosts Olivet Nazarene on Tuesday before heading to Lourdes.  Courtney Murphy leads the Panthers averaging 13.0 points per game while Mallory Sewell adds 11.8 points per night. Molly Babbs is pulling down a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game.  As a team Davenport is shooting 42.3% from the floor and averaging 82.3 points per night while surrendering just 60.6 points per game.

Scouting Carlow: The Celtics enter the week having dropped two straight games after falling 67-53 on the road at Point Park on Monday.  Carlow hosts Alfred State on Saturday before heading to Lourdes.  Emma Stille leads Carlow averaging 11.0 points per game and is the only player tallying double figures.   The Celtics are averaging 57.1 points per game while shooting 35.0% from the field.

Overtime Streak Ends: Lourdes had never dropped an overtime contest in program history prior to Wednesday's setback to Cornerstone.  The Gray Wolves were previously 4-0 all-time when being forced to play more than 40 minutes, with their most recent overtime triumph coming Feb. 11, 2015, a 65-62 win over Marygrove.

Wrapping Up 2016: Lourdes enters the final three games of the 2016 calendar year, having already posted as many victories during this season than in the second half of the last campaign.  The Gray Wolves are 8-20 during the calendar year which began with a setback at home against Madonna on Jan. 2.

Jekyll and Hyde at the Line: Lourdes has been really good or really struggled from the free throw line this season, without much middle ground.  The Gray Wolves have been perfect from the stripe twice on the year, and shot 88.9% from the line on Saturday against Indiana Tech.  However, prior to Saturday, Lourdes shot just 42.9% from the charity stripe, and has not shot 70% or higher other than in the three hot-shooting contests.

Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks sixth among all NAIA Division II teams averaging 16.85 offensive rebounds per game.  The Gray Wolves are also 24th nationally pulling down 42.85 rebounds per game, while ranking 27th tallying 11.08 steals per night.

Individuals in the National Leaders: Daja Whiteside ranks eighth among all NAIA Division II players averaging 4.00 offensive rebounds per game.  Jesse Fidler ranks 12th in that same category, pulling down 3.77 offensive caroms per night.  Fidler is also 38th in the country shooting 48.6% from the floor.

Captains Named: Lourdes has a trio of captains heading into the 2016-2017 season.  Jesse Fidler is serving as a captain for her second straight season while Sara Pribonic and Andrea Hodge are in their first year in the leadership role.

This and That: Jesse Fidler is 12 points shy of 800 for her career ... Elayna Ackerman recorded her first collegiate double-double with 18 points while matching a career-high with 10 rebounds against Cornerstone ... Fidler is the only Gray Wolf to start all 13 games.
