Lourdes Brings Three-Game Win Streak into Homestand

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes comes home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center this week for a pair of games, looking to extend its three-game winning streak. The Gray Wolves host Cornerstone on Wednesday night before entertaining 21st-ranked Indiana Tech in a Saturday afternoon contest.

Head Coach Summer Quesenberry: In her first season on the Lourdes bench Summer Quesenberry has a 4-7 (.364) record.  Overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Quesenberry has a 57-75 (.432) record in her fifth season.  She is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Cornerstone is 10-0 all-time against Lourdes dating back to the first meeting on Dec. 10, 2011.  Last season the Golden Eagles posted a 56-37 victory at Tam-o-Shanter before downing the Gray Wolves 69-49 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Cornerstone posted a 4-0 record against Lourdes at Tam-o-Shanter.  Indiana Tech holds a 9-1 series lead dating back to Jan. 7, 2012, and has won six consecutive meetings.  Last year the Warriors were 94-72 victors in Fort Wayne, Ind. and scored an 82-65 win at Tam-o-Shanter.  Indiana Tech went 4-0 against the Gray Wolves at Tam-o-Shanter.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes scored a home victory on Wednesday night against Madonna, scoring 31 fourth quarter points to defeat the Crusaders 80-73.  Daja Whiteside led the Gray Wolves with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Taylor Geib added 14 points, 15 boards, and five assists.  The Gray Wolves added a road victory on Saturday at Marygrove 77-49.  Jesse Fidler scored 21 points for Lourdes as all 10 Gray Wolves that dressed were able to score.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles have dropped three of their last four games after falling 82-50 at 21st-ranked Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon.  Jesse Sheridan leads Cornerstone averaging 14.3 points per game.  Ellery Mast is the team's top rebounder, pulling down 5.7 boards per night.  As a team Cornerstone is scoring 60.7 points per game and shooting 36.2% from the floor.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week having won four straight games following an 82-50 victory at home against Cornerstone on Saturday.  Indiana Tech hosts Aquinas on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Haley Cook leads four Warriors in double figures, averaging 19.4 points per game.  Keanna Gary adds a double-double per night, scoring 15.2 points and grabbing 10.5 rebounds per game while Kendall Knapke tallies 13.5 points per game.  Taylor Seiss chips in 12.8 points per game for a team averaging 90.2 points per night.  Indiana Tech is shooting 50.7% from the floor this year.

Record-Setting Win Streak: Lourdes enters the week having won three straight games for just the second time in program history.  The Gray Wolves previously won three consecutive contests Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2014.  Lourdes defeated Rochester (Mich.), Wilberforce, and Cincinnati Christian to open the 2014-2015 season.

Facing Ranked Opponents: Lourdes will face a NAIA top-25 opponent for the 29th time in program history on Saturday when Indiana Tech visits the Ebeid Rec Center.  The Gray Wolves are 1-27 all-time against ranked foes, having defeated 18th-ranked Indiana-Northwest on the road on Nov. 5, 2011.  Lourdes has played one ranked team thus far this year, falling to #24 Milligan 69-66 at the Union College Classic.

Double-Doubles: Daja Whiteside and Taylor Geib both recorded double-doubles for the Gray Wolves last Wednesday in the win over Madonna.  Whiteside registered 20 points and 10 rebounds while Geib added 14 points and 15 boards.  Whiteside now has three double-doubles on the year while Geib's was the second of her rookie campaign.  As a team, Lourdes players have registered eight total double-doubles this year.

Balanced Attack: In the win against Marygrove on Saturday, all 10 Gray Wolves that dressed for the contest scored.  Only Jesse Fidler (21 points) tallied double figures in the scoring column, but four more players scored at least eight points for Lourdes.

Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks 12th among all NAIA Division II teams averaging 16.27 offensive rebounds per game.  The Gray Wolves are also 18th nationally pulling down 43.27 rebounds per game, while ranking 27th in three-point field goal percentage defense, as opponents are shooting just 27.5% from long range against Lourdes.  The Gray Wolves are also 32nd in the country tallying 10.73 steals per night.
 
Individuals in the National Leaders: Daja Whiteside ranks seventh among all NAIA Division II players averaging 4.27 offensive rebounds per game.  Jesse Fidler ranks 23rd in that same category, pulling down 3.46 offensive caroms per night.  Fidler is also 48th in the country shooting 47.5% from the floor.

Captains Named: Lourdes has a trio of captains heading into the 2016-2017 season.  Jesse Fidler is serving as a captain for her second straight season while Sara Pribonic and Andrea Hodge are in their first year in the leadership role.

This and That: Jesse Fidler is the only Gray Wolf to start all 11 games this season ... Fidler is 38 points shy of 800 for her career ... Taylor Geib's 15 rebounds against Madonna marked a career high, and was her fourth double figure rebounding game of the season ... Mariah DuPree's four steals versus Marygrove marked a career high.
