Oakland and Winona State Up Next for No. 4 Gray Wolves

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: After a thrilling overtime victory at home on Saturday, fourth-ranked Lourdes remains at Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday night as the Gray Wolves entertain Oakland.  The Gray Wolves will then travel to Minnesota on Saturday afternoon for a game at Winona State.

On the Air: Wednesday's game against Oakland will be broadcast by BCSN on Buckeye Cablesystem.  The game will air on Thursday at 1:30 and 11 a.m. as well as 6 p.m.  The game can also be seen on Friday at noon, Saturday at 3:30 a.m. and at midnight and 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.  In addition, BCSN2 will show the game on Thursday at 7 a.m., Friday at 1:30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 9 p.m.

Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his third season on the Lourdes bench, Patrick Yannarelli has a 19-11 (.633) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against Oakland dating back to March 7, 2014.  The Gray Wolves were 14-6 victors in the first meeting at Detroit Country Day School before defeating the Golden Grizzlies 14-8 last year in Rochester, Mich.  Lourdes and Winona State have never met in lacrosse.

Wrapping Up Last Week: The Gray Wolves dropped their first game of the season on Wednesday evening, falling 15-9 at Dayton.  Dalton Vowles led Lourdes with four goals while Conner Mishler made 12 saves in the cage.  On Saturday, Lourdes jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Grove City tied the game to force overtime.  Jared Yoshino's goal 12 seconds into the extra session gave the Gray Wolves an 11-10 victory.  Yoshino, Vowles, and Danny Bichsel each had three goals while Mishler made 13 saves.

Scouting Oakland: The Golden Grizzlies have dropped three straight contests after falling 13-3 at Purdue last Saturday afternoon.  Trevor Atkinson, Hunter Spielman, and Alexander Timmis have each scored six times for Oakland while Austin Severson has a team-high seven assists.  In goal, Marek Nagy sports a 13.17 goals against average and a .535 save percentage.

Scouting Winona State: The Warriors have dropped back-to-back games, the most recent coming on Feb. 28 at Lawrence Tech by a 16-10 score.  Calvin Lamb leads Winona State with 10 goals and 12 points while Alec Leaf has 11 points and a team-high six assists.  In goal, Aaron Landgraf has posted a 9.67 goals against average and a .491 save percentage, logging every minute in the cage for the Warriors.

WHAC Honors: Dalton Vowles was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week while Conner Mishler earned his second straight WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honor this past week.  Vowles scored seven goals and added three assists in two games while Mishler made 25 stops combined against Dayton and Grove City.

Trio of Scorers: Danny Bichsel, Dalton Vowles, and Jared Yoshino have combined for 77.8% of Lourdes goals this year.  Bichsel leads the way with 24 goals, and has 34 total points while Vowles has added 18 goals and 28 points.  Yoshino has 14 goals, a team-high 17 assists, for 31 points.

Two Affiliations: Lourdes is a member of both the NAIA and MCLA in men's lacrosse.  The Gray Wolves are ranked fourth nationally in NAIA, where they are members of the WHAC.  In addition, they rank 25th in MCLA Division II as members of the CCLA.

This and That: Lourdes has won 61.1% (77-of-126) of its faceoffs this season ... Jared Yoshino has collected a team-high 23 ground balls ... the win over Grove City was the Gray Wolves' first ever overtime contest ... 11 different players have scored at least one goal this season ... Conner Mishler has played every minute in goal, with a goals against average of 7.99.
