Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes begins its final homestand of the 2016 season this week with three doubleheaders.  The Gray Wolves will host Indiana Tech on Wednesday and Marygrove on Saturday and Sunday to begin the 10-game season-ending homestand.

Head Coach Jeremy Snow: In his first season on the Lourdes bench, Jeremy Snow has a 10-31 (.244) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the second head coach in Lourdes program's history, and currently serving in an interim role.

Probable Starters: Phoenix Andrews (RHP, 1-1, 5.27) will take the hill in the opener of Wednesday's doubleheader against Indiana Tech.  The Gray Wolves are slated to go with Bill Laranga (RHP, 2-6, 4.98) in game two against the Warriors..  In the series against Marygrove, A.J. Schraffenberger (LHP, 2-7, 4.12) and Paul Avila (LHP, 2-6, 6.04) are slated to be handed the baseball on Saturday while and Brandon Holt (RHP, 2-4, 2.72) and Laranga will take the mound to start Sunday's twinbill.

Series Notes: Indiana Tech holds an 18-0 series edge over the Gray Wolves dating back to April 27, 2012.  The Warriors swept a doubleheader in Fort Wayne, Ind. earlier this season, winning 1-0 and 8-1 on April 5.  Indiana Tech holds a 10-0 series edge in games played at Mercy Field.  Lourdes and Marygrove have split their previous four games, played May 1 and 2, 2015.  This will be the Mustangs first appearance ever at Mercy Field.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped both games of a doubleheader on Wednesday at home to Northwestern Ohio by scores of 11-0 and 5-1.  Dallas Riggs had two hits in the opener while also driving home the lone run in game two.  The Gray Wolves swept a twinbill at Cornerstone on Friday, winning 7-3 and 7-5.  Riggs and Zak Laubscher had three hits each in game one while Glen Crabtree was 3-for-4 with three runs batted in during game two.  On Saturday, the Golden Eagles returned the favor, sweeping Lourdes 7-3 and 1-0.  The Gray Wolves managed just six hits over the two games.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors have dropped six games in a row after being swept by Madonna at home last weekend in a four-game series.  Brian Hakes leads Indiana Tech batting .370 with seven home runs and 44 runs batted in.  The Warriors are hitting .294 as a team.  Indiana Tech's pitching staff sports a 3.00 earned run average and is holding the opposition to a .235 batting average through 42 games.

Scouting Marygrove: The Mustangs have dropped 10 games in a row entering this week after being swept in a four-game series at home against Northwestern Ohio last weekend.  Chase Younkin leads Marygrove batting .320 while Pete Macke is hitting .301 for a Mustangs' squad that is hitting .206 as a team.  The Marygrove pitching staff sports an 11.85 earned run average with opponents batting .376 against them.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor its senior class prior to Sunday's doubleheader with Marygrove.

Lengthy Homestand: The 10-game season-ending homestand matches the second longest in program history.  Lourdes played 11 consecutive home games from March 20-30, 2014, going 3-8 during those games.  Last year the Gray Wolves were home for 10 straight contests from April 17-25, 2015, with Lourdes posting a 3-7 record.

Flawless in the Field: Garrett Jex has had 125 chances behind the plate this season, without committing an error.  Dallas Riggs also has a 1.000 fielding percentage in centerfield, having not committed a miscue in 105 chances.

A Direct Correlation?: When Lourdes has outhit its opponents this season, the Gray Wolves are 9-1 in 2016.  However, when the Gray Wolves have been outhit by the opposition they are just 1-27 on the year.  Lourdes has also failed to win a game this season when the opponent have scored first, something that has occurred 25 times this year.

Reaching Base: Dallas Riggs enters the week having reached base safely in seven straight contests, the third longest streak of the season by an Gray Wolf player.  Matt York has reached base safely in five straight games, giving Lourdes a pair of players who have streaks of four or more games.

Jex Leads the Batting Race: Garrett Jex continues to lead Lourdes hitters this season, batting .304 on the year.  Jex has 13 doubles and 16 runs batted in, also marks that lead the team.

Holt Throwing Well: Brandon Holt leads Lourdes on the mound, having logged 56.1 innings.  He shares the team lead with two victories and has saved four others, while sporting a 2.72 earned run average.  Opponents are batting just .268 against Holt as well.

This and That: Garrett Jex has thrown out 14 of 46 would-be base stealers ... Glen Crabtree has tallied 10 doubles during his freshman season ... George Pastor is the lone Gray Wolf to start all 41 games this season.
