Box Score Lourdes saw its 2016 season come to a close on Tuesday evening as the Gray Wolves fell to Saint Thomas (Minn.) 20-14 in the quarterfinals of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) tournament held in Irvine, Calif.

"Today was a great example of the heart and desire of the team," head coach Patrick Yannarelli said.  "They never gave up and tried their best the entire game.  I'm proud of all the guys and where they are going.  We are very thankful for the seniors and juniors who led us to a new benchmark as we move forward as a program.  A special thanks to Danny Bichsel and Dylan Gill, the seniors who were coaches, mentors, and a driving force on the field.  We are grateful for the foundation that they helped lay."

The Gray Wolves trailed 9-1 late in the first quarter before the Tommies led 14-6 at halftime.  Lourdes cut its deficit to within five in the fourth quarter, but could get no closer.

Saint Thomas remains undefeated on the season, improving to 15-0 while Lourdes' season ends with a 15-6 mark.
