Series Notes: Concordia (Mich.) holds a 10-5-1 series advantage dating back to April 13, 2012. The Cardinals won three of the four games played between the two schools in 2015 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Concordia leads the series at Mercy Field 6-2.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the week, and the 10-game homestand, dropping both ends of a doubleheader against Indiana Tech 10-1 and 3-1 on Wednesday. The Gray Wolves managed just four hits in each game of the doubleheader. On Saturday, Lourdes and Marygrove split a twinbill with the Gray Wolves winning the opener 3-0 before the Mustangs took game two 24-5.Â
A.J. Schraffenberger tossed the complete game shutout and
Garrett Jex went 3-for-4 in game one, but Gray Wolf pitchers walked 21 Mustangs in the game two loss. Sunday Lourdes celebrated Senior Day sweeping a twinbill from Marygrove 10-0 and 6-4.Â
Nick Toth went 3-for-4 with four runs batted in in game one while
Brandon Holt tossed a two-hit shutout. In game two, Toth again drove home two runs in the victory.
Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the week having won three of four against Cornerstone last weekend at home and are in fourth place in the WHAC standings. Concordia hosts Cleary on Wednesday before heading to Lourdes for games on Thursday and Friday. Keith Phillips leads Concordia batting .343 on the season with 28 runs batted in. As a team the Cardinals are hitting .274 while the pitching staff sports a 3.96 earned run average and teams are batting .273 against them.
