Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes University opens its second season of soccer on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves welcome Grace Bible to Wildcat Stadium in non-conference action. Â
Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his second season on the Lourdes bench,
Barry Spitzer has a 7-7-2 (.500) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes leads the all-time series against Grace Bible 1-0, having defeated the Tigers 3-2 in overtime on Aug. 28, 2015 in Grand Rapids, Mich.Â
Adilson Darosa scored the match-winner for the Gray Wolves 6:02 into the extra session in the first match in Lourdes men's soccer history.
Wrapping Up 2015: Lourdes finished its inaugural season with a .500 record at 7-7-2 overall while finishing sixth in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a 5-4-2 mark. The Gray Wolves fell 1-0 to Marygrove in the quarterfinals of the WHAC tournament.
Scouting Grace Bible: The Tigers finished 10-9 in 2015 as members of the NCCAA. Grace Bible returns its top five scorers from one season ago, including Daniel Sischo, who tallied 17 goals and had 41 points on the year. Drew Smith played 610 minutes between the posts, sporting a 3.25 goals against average and is the Tigers' lone returning goalkeeper.
Lourdes in Openers: Lourdes won its only previous season opener, defeating Grace Bible 3-2 in overtime to begin the 2015. The Gray Wolves are 0-1 all-time in home openers though, falling 4-3 to Walsh to begin the slate at Wildcat Stadium in 2015.
Scoring Leaders: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet led Lourdes in scoring during the inaugural season, tallying eight goals and four assists for 20 points.Â
Adilson Darosa tallied three match-winners and was second on the squad with 11 total points.

Carlos Viganoni are the five players that return for the Gray Wolves in 2016 that appeared in all 16 contests during the inaugural campaign. Kirchoff-Sleet started 15 contests, the most by any returnee.
Goalkeeping Shuffle: Lourdes utilized the services of three different goalkeepers during the 2015 campaign, two of whom return this year.Â
Jose Cedillo posted a 0.96 goals against average and notched three shutouts while
Andre White had a 1.00 GAA and also added a clean sheet.
Lots of New Faces: Lourdes has 13 newcomers on the roster in 2016. Eight true freshmen join five transfers as the newest members of the Gray Wolves' squad.
Returning Honorees: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet was named to the All-Ohio Team during his first season at Lourdes while
Riley Hogan was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team in 2015.Â
Jose Cedillo garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors Oct. 5, 2015 for his efforts on the field as well.
A Model of Consistency: Lourdes finished .500 in its first season not only overall but both at home (3-3-1) and on the road (4-4-1). In addition, the Gray Wolves never won more than two matches in a row or suffered more than two consecutive defeats in year one.
Team Captain: Jake Kirchoff-Sleet is the Gray Wolves' lone captain for the 2016 season. The Lourdes senior is serving in the role for the second consecutive season.
This and That: Lourdes went 1-0-2 when playing overtime in its first season ... the Gray Wolves shut out four opponents and were blanked five times ... Lourdes high for goals in a match during the 2015 season was three on six occasions.
