Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes wraps up its three-match homestand on Wednesday evening when the Gray Wolves entertain Madonna at Wildcat Stadium.  Saturday, the Gray Wolves begin a four-match road trip as Lourdes heads north to Marygrove while moving closer to the midway point of the WHAC schedule.

Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his third season on the Lourdes bench, Barry Spitzer has a 17-19-4 (.450) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Madonna holds a 1-0-1 advantage over Lourdes all-time in a series that dates back to Oct. 31, 2015.  The Crusaders defeated Lourdes 3-1 last season in Livonia, Mich. after the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw through double-overtime in the initial meeting.  Marygrove is 3-0 all-time against the Gray Wolves dating back to Oct. 10, 2015.  Last season the Mustangs rallied to defeat Lourdes 3-2 at Wildcat Stadium.  Marygrove holds a 2-0 edge in Detroit, Mich., including a WHAC quarterfinal victory during the 2015 season.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Judah Goodridge scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the match on Wednesday and Lourdes held on to defeat Aquinas 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium.  Jose Cedillo made six stops in goal for the Gray Wolves in the win.  Goodridge scored again on Saturday against Indiana Tech, but the Warriors took a 2-1 lead in the 29th minute and neither team scored the rest of the way.  Cedillo made five stops in the loss.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders are unbeaten (3-0-1) in their last four matches after playing Cornerstone to a scoreless draw on Friday afternoon.  Yuri Farkas and Hector Morales lead Madonna with seven goals each.  Morales also shares the team's top honor with three assists, giving him 17 points on the year.  Ludvick Asigo also has handed out three helpers.  In goal, Joe Smith has played the majority of the minutes, sporting a 0.66 goals against average and a .833 save percentage.

Scouting Marygrove: The Mustangs have dropped two straight matches after falling 3-1 to Aquinas on Saturday.  Marygrove hosts Rochester (Mich.) on Tuesday before hosting Lourdes.  Gbenga Mike Ayanwale leads the team with eight goals and three assists for 19 total points while AlKhulaidi Mohamed also has three helpers.  Gabriel da Silveira Greenfield has played most of the minutes in goal, posting a 1.30 GAA and a .750 save percentage.

Matching Best WHAC Start: Lourdes 2-1 record to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play matches the 2015 squad for the best league start in program history.  The Gray Wolves dropped each of their next two matches in 2015 before finishing the year 5-4-2 in WHAC play.  Lourdes has already surpassed the 2016 squad's WHAC total with the two wins and six points.  Last year the Gray Wolves won just once in conference action and tallied four total points.

Preparing for Record-Setting Road Trip: Lourdes will begin a four-match road trip on Saturday afternoon at Marygrove, the longest the Gray Wolves will have been away from home in program history.  Entering this week, Lourdes has never played more than two straight road contests in its three years, and this year has only had three total road matches overall entering the trip.

Goodridge Finds the Back of the Net: Judah Goodridge has scored six goals over the last four matches for the Gray Wolves and has moved into a tie with Haggi Amirally for the team's scoring lead with seven goals on the year.  Goodridge accounted for all three of the team's tallies last week with two against Aquinas and another goal versus Indiana Tech.  Goodridge had a hat trick against Andrews, and added an assist in the only match he has not scored in during the four-match span.

Arno Takes Team's Assist Lead: Akilla Arno handed out his fourth assist of the year against Aquinas to match Adilson Darosa for the team's lead this season.  Arno now has nine career helpers, just one shy of Jake Kirchoff-Sleet's (2015-2016) career mark of 10.
