Upcoming in Gray Wolves Basketball: Lourdes closes out the 2016-2017 home campaign this week with a pair of games. The Gray Wolves entertain Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday evening before hosting Lawrence Tech on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day.
On the Air: Saturday's game against Lawrence Tech will be broadcast live on BCSN2 on Buckeye Cablesystem. The game will re air on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Head Coach Summer Quesenberry: In her first season on the Lourdes bench
Summer Quesenberry has a 6-20 (.231) record. Overall as a women's collegiate head coach, Quesenberry has a 59-88 (.401) record in her fifth season. She is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio holds a 10-1 series advantage over Lourdes dating back to Jan. 18, 2012. The Racers won the first meeting between the two schools this season, 71-59, on Jan. 4 in Lima, Ohio. Northwestern Ohio went 5-0 against the Gray Wolves in Tam-o-Shanter. Lawrence Tech leads the all-time series against the Gray Wolves 6-3 dating back to Nov. 17, 2012. The Blue Devils have won three straight games in the series after scoring an 82-60 triumph on Jan. 7 in Southfield, Mich. The schools split the four games played at Tam-o-Shanter 2-2.
Earlier This Season: Lourdes fell behind 43-17 at halftime on Jan. 4 at Northwestern Ohio and, despite outscoring the Racers by 15 points in the fourth quarter, came up on the short end of a 71-59 final.Â
Daja Whiteside was the lone Gray Wolf in double figures, scoring 16 points. Keundra Cox and Sogona Sidibe each tallied 10 points to pace Northwestern Ohio. Lawrence Tech shot 54% from the floor on Jan. 7 on the way to defeating Lourdes 82-60 in the first meeting between the two schools.Â
Elayna Ackerman led Lourdes with 14 points while
Jesse Fidler added 12 more. Hayley Walkowski led Lawrence Tech with 20 points off of the bench on 9-for-9 shooting while Nicole Buckingham added 16 points.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes shot just 30% from the floor, including 5-for-23 (21.7%) from three-point range last Wednesday and suffered an 80-50 road loss to Cornerstone in Grand Rapids, Mich.Â
Mariah DuPree and
Molea Thompson led Lourdes with 12 points each in the setback. On Saturday, the Gray Wolves trailed sixth-ranked Davenport by just four in the final period, but ultimately came up short 76-64 in Grand Rapids.Â
Elayna Ackerman tallied 16 points and had 10 rebounds while
Jesse Fidler added 14 points.
Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers have dropped five straight games after suffering a 72-61 setback at Aquinas on Saturday. Sogona Sidibe is the lone Racer tallying double figures this season, averaging 12.2 points per game. She also shares the team's rebounding lead with Linda Ulasi, averaging 6.7 boards per contest. Danielle VanDyne ranks third in NAIA Division II shooting 47.9% from three-point range.
Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the week having dropped five of their last seven games following a 55-51 setback at home to Cornerstone on Saturday. Lawrence Tech hosts Indiana Tech on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes. Nicole Buckingham leads the Blue Devils offensively, averaging 16.6 points per game. Hayley Walkowski is also scoring in double figures, tallying 10.0 points per night.
Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor its two seniors prior to Saturday's game with Lawrence Tech.Â

Play for Kay: Lourdes will host its annual Play for Kay game on Wednesday evening against Northwestern Ohio. The Gray Wolves' coaches will be wearing pink throughout the game to bring awareness to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund as well as accepting donations throughout the game as well.
Double-Double Times Two: Elayna Ackerman and
Daja Whiteside both recorded double-doubles for the Gray Wolves on Saturday at sixth-ranked Davenport. Ackerman tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds while Whiteside scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards. Whiteside has a team-leading six double-doubles this season while Ackerman registered her second. The effort marked the fourth time this season Lourdes has had two double-doubles in the same game.
Closing In On Milestones: Jesse Fidler enters the week needing just 63 points to reach 1,000 for her career. The Gray Wolf junior has scored 937 points in her first three years. Fidler is also just 26 rebounds shy of 600 during her stay at Lourdes.
Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks seventh among all NAIA Division II teams averaging 16.46 offensive rebounds per game. The Gray Wolves are also 25th nationally pulling down 41.62 total rebounds per contest. In addition, Lourdes ranks 32nd in the country tallying 10.31 steals per night and is 46th holding opponents to just 30.0% shooting from three-point range..

Individuals in the National Leaders: Jesse Fidler ranks 19th in offensive rebounding, pulling down 3.58 offensive caroms per night. Fidler is also 45th in the country shooting 46.9% from the floor.Â
Daja Whiteside ranks 23rd among all NAIA Division II players averaging 3.46 offensive rebounds per game. Â
